I just traded for a 91 ss and am new to Subaru. Secoond gear grenaded on me leaving a light the second day i had the car.
I know the 91 has a 3.9 rear vlsd and hydro clutch, and that other legacy awd trannies that year are cable. Correct??? The swap sticky said all subaru trans are mostly the same, but wasn't very indepth. So can I swap in any subie AWD 5mt as long as i change out my FD set? Or does the front and center diff ratios make a difference. Am I overthinking this?
I know it has been covered somewhere before, but i checked both drivetrain and swap sections and have found nothing. Searching with different keywords yields the same results.
I've called people trying to source a trans and every time i tell them its a 91 turbo all i get is "good luck..." :roll:
