Old
Hello, This is my 2000 Subaru Outback.
Its mostly stock right now, low budget, Im sure you guys know that feeling. But you do what you gotta do.

So far I have a full WRX exhaust on it right now, 3'' piping, and a 4'' tip.
The motor is N/A (working on brakes and suspension next, then taking a break and going to russia in two years or so, then when i get back, im going to start on the engine. I may do a few minor things before though)

Im in the process of molding the hood scoop on, and cutting the bonnet ect. (November 1)
Im also in the process of making my stock rims gun metal colour. I just like the stock rims, but didnt like the colour.
I did the Yellowed fog lights the week I got the car, (back in july)
I re did the headlamps too. ( great thanks to the DIY Threads)
https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2009/11/cp1_1031091602-1.jpg

More to come. (more pics info ect) in a hurry right now, so if it not up to par, it should be by the end of today.

Your outback looks nice. Funny, i didnt know that WRX exaust was possible on our car.

MRLancaster
11-01-2009, 03:39 PM
Thanks! Yeah I got a local shop to help me out, I bought the exhaust, and they made theyre own adapters and had to lengthen the piping. and re route the hangers. I will add more pics.

just a rough draft I did of what I want "Anya" to somewhat look like. ( i named her, so in the future if you see Anya, im referring to the car)

Your outback looks nice. Funny, i didnt know that WRX exaust was possible on our car.

Plenty of BE/BH owners have done it. And the WRX exhaust is 2.25" pipe, not 3". The tip is around 3-4" though.

Haha thanks, , but I was doing research about the outback back in july when i got her, and i saw that the model i have is known as the lancaster, and the older models are called grandwagons ect. so i was like i will do MRLancaster

Navi271> thanks i hope it will be. over time. :D it already looks sick though.
Just gotta start the engine when i get back to the US

Airgne
11-14-2009, 01:03 AM
what you want to do to the engine? i like how more 3rd gen owners are coming here.

MRLancaster
11-14-2009, 01:11 AM
For now its stock N/A 2.5, but i was going to swap to an ej25. but i was talking to my friend at a car meet about 30min ago, suggested to keep the motor i have and just change the internals to be able to cope with a turbo, so right now im just looking for the most affordable. tight budget, so i cant do anything big yet. But if you (or anyone else checking up on the car) has any suggestions hit me up, im new to tuning cars, and new to subies, so my friends are explaining alot to me about the car itself. I want to set it up to take the mountain roads really well, thats why im going to do the suspension and brakes next. then do the engine in a few years. (only 18, so not in a hurry right now lol)

Airgne
11-14-2009, 01:29 AM
you can do the swap under 3500. i will have a full list and prices after i finish my swap in march. should be around 3500. i will be doing all the mech work myself.

Was a CB radio, sold it to my neighbour. got a new shroud because of where I cut the vent out. Back to factory.

As for russia, its going to have to wait. Going to start my bachlors in automotive drafting in a year. So going to finish that up. And for the city, Omsk. :) Its where I was born.

Yamazaki
06-18-2011, 08:37 AM
+1 tint. I was also going to say rail deletes, but you actually use yours.
Outside of that, it's fantastic. I also like the GT-B grille with a Lancaster badge on an one-tone Outback body with an Impreza (I think) lip. THAT's originality with OEM parts, and that's hard to do. Awesome. :smt023

MRLancaster
06-18-2011, 07:14 PM
Thanks! Yeah I am going to tint, but not much, I cant stand really tinted cars. As for the OEM look. I love it! Turned out very nice. The grill lancaster badge was the Lancaster6 badge you sent me. Shaved off the 6. and then got a regular Lancaster badge for the rear. The cars turned out for the best. Ive got discouraged by this car several times, but kept going with it and never gave up, and now its turned out for the best and havent been discouraged anymore. :) Only have a few more mods left to do on it. :)

Should have the Prodrives on in a week or two.

Oh and the Lip is an STI limited v Ebay lip. Bought the cheap one because I knew I'd be cutting it up to fit

Ya you kinda need to mess with the settings in that scenario lol. You can use photoshop or picnik.com if you can't afford photoshop to edit the photo.

I have the JDM BH spoiler now, just have to get it painted, and gt the 3m Lip instaled and painted. The cars been in the shop, had an incident with a shovel falling off another vehicle and taking out my front end. Should have her back this week. So november I should have the spoiler on. And working on an idea for the rear bumper. Once I pick up a spare bumper I will get to working on that as well. Being in school makes money tight. And makes things into very slow process. lol

In early 2012. In the process of moving right now. So they should be on around febuary or march I hope. What I'm probably going to do is go to a mazda dealership and see how the back of their fender signals look like, because they sit flat against the car, where as the legacy has the little dip where the light sits. So it maybe better to get the mazda ones.

Mud spats and a mid spoiler...

MRLancaster
12-06-2011, 09:31 AM
Im going to do mud spats, looking for a 2nd gen wagon rear lip, the measurements are pretty close. Going to fiddle around with putting one on and painting it the same colour as the car, then do mud spats on that. Another thing that I should be getting soon is REV D headlights. And then replacing interior parts. Shes far from done. And one day hopefully a swap a few years from now.

12-06-2011, 10:49 AM

Either Pearl, or Gloss white

MRLancaster
01-15-2012, 07:24 PM
Reasons for painting:
1. If me and my friend trade bumpers, I will have a silver bumper
2. The shop who painted the car didnt do that great, theres orange peel and parts are fading a little in areas.
3. I have to get the trunk repainted, a. to match the spoiler with the trunk, and b. theres a drip from where they painted.
4. After the front end was taken out from the shovel that fell off a truck in front of me, the front is perfect but the front door to the back is just orange peel.

2006-7 is a 2.5
2002-5 is a 2.0.

SativaMan04

Oops. Sorrry bou that. On the bright side, you're going to have turbo! lucky!! and you're legs will be stronger from all that biking/walking you're going to be doing. hehe jk jk. Hopefully starting a new thread for the new member of the family :)

httrdd
01-23-2012, 03:44 PM
Sweet, but why STi? There is a lot of modding to a Wrx engine for half the cost you can do. Buy a block put it on an engine stand and start building it! That way you know you have started from scratch.

amgarrety
01-23-2012, 06:04 PM
This news is bittersweet. I can't wait to see your car even beastlier than before, but that's not cool that you'll be without it for awhile. I hope you get the Lancaster back up and running!

But yeah, the STI is really nothing special over the WRX engine, and by the time you do the right mods, you're right up to STI spec without the insane cost. The only real advantage is you could call your car STI instead of "tuned to STI specs".

But if you're going STI, that means you're coming to the dark side, right? I'm talking about maybe a little something different where your 4EAT used to be.....
