Keep the 98gt, that OBDII has some serious potential...06+ wrx swap...sti swap...it'd make a nice sleeper.

the 92 legacy has a chip coming out which i can tune it myself, and plus it has a 2.2l closed deck which is strong as hell. but i plan to swap in my eg33 into either one i keep.

Are both rust free? If so, stick with the lighter chassis.

Obd2 means nothing if you can transplant engines and harnesses.

yeah I'm pretty sure the 92 is lighter. Let me know if you do swap out the 2.2 i would be interested in picking it up. Nice to see another local on here!

well my 2.2 has the sti heads ect... pretty nice motor but it has a broken crank and im rebuilding it now but i think im keeping the ss, once i put the boosted 6cyl in it the 2.2 will be for sale.

put the 6 cyl in:

:-(

Having had two SS's and now having a 97 GT wagon, I would have said keep the SS, sell the GT, and use the money to replace everything on the SS(suspension, bushings of every kind, anything that needs done to the motor, etc.). But, if I was to do a swap, might as well keep the GT.

And just my opinion, but if I were to swap something, I'd put a WRX motor and tranny in the GT and call it a day. Tons of info, tons of technical help, tons of potential. Why mess with a 6cyl, especially trying to turbocharge it? By the time you get everything figured out, if you get everything figured out, you could have had put on thousands of turbocharged fun-filled miles. The turbo EJ20 and EJ25 are like gold mines in terms of everything(info on basic repair, info on upgrading, parts availability, engine mngt options, etc). Why mess with such a odd-ball of a motor like the 3.3?

well my ss is already good condition and i have kyb struts and h&r springs, i dont need to reapir anything on my ss other than the crank. id prefer my 2.2t over a wrx motor, i want a turbo 6cyl because i want something different, everyone goes with a sti or wrx motor.

and i only put the 6cyl in to look at clearances and also to tease myself just a bit ha.

Having owned both I'd have to say the second gen. Both those cars are extremely comparable in weight. The 1st gen might be maybe up to 100 lbs lighter. I think the second generation is a much stronger chassis in my honest opinion. You have a really unique and nice SS (seen on LC before) but a 2nd gen LGT in quicksilver metallic is hard to beat.

I'm thinking of selling my first gen to dump more money into my BD - stance coilovers, recaro SRD's etc.

Its just my .02c - you really can't go wrong with a Legacy either way!

Keep the SS, the BD is a dime a dozen. Just need a different paint job.

My vote is for the SS. The fully closed deck 2.2 is one of the coolest engines subaru has built in my opinion. They look pretty sweet too. Nice cars man and good luck with 3.3 turbo project, it's nice to see something different.
