code po743 ,at oil temp light flashes only at start

i did the head gaskets,car is 98 legacy gt 2.5 4eat trans,noticed check engine light on after that,at oil light flases about 7-8 times at start-up, did trans scan said code po 743,took to my tranny friend, he checked all wires,checkedselenoid,everything looked good,but checked tcu,two pins werent working he said, so i bought one from junkyard,plugged in and am still getting same code,tried clearing code with obd scanner(cheap one) but still same,is there a way to reset something or what else could be wrong? thanks

Still sounds like there's a problem with the solenoid...

Have you tried resetting the car - disconnect negative batt terminal for 30mins, depress brake pedal, release, reconnect battery.
