As I am sure that most of you are well aware, activity here has fallen off of a cliff and the forum is officially
dead
.
We do get a number of people trying to register for the forums on a nearly daily basis, since each and every registration is manually approved here, it adds an extra amount of time to my day to go through and check these and approve them individually. Unfortunately,
not a single one of these new people contribute in any way
, so it is just a waste of their and my time to register and approve them. As such,
I have decided to disable new user registration going forward.
That said, if there is a user who has a real
legitimate reason
for becoming a new member here, they can reach out to me via email to pitch their case for being allowed to join. They can email my username @sl-i.net, and I will look it over. You do need to make a very compelling reasoning at this point. Things like "wanting to learn more" or "want to get a service manual" are not good enough reasons since browsing, the search function, and downloads are all currently available to even unregistered users. It must be a valid reason that is not already answered in the many threads here, or a function that is already available to everyone.
If there are any questions about this new stance from any of the members here, please feel free to reach out to me via PM or eMail. I will be happy to discuss your concerns.
Thanks! - rkrenicki
Unregistered, You must accept the Forum Rules below to be able to use some forum functions.
Forum Rules
General Rules
1. No personal attacks on other members even if you are provoked or via PM’s. PM's from staff are private unless sent to another staff member. Bashing or mocking other boards content and inciting flame wars with other boards will not be tolerated. This includes members and staff. If you have problems with a member, take it up with them on your own personal time/grounds.
2. No nudity or graphic visual adult content. IE: Pictures, links, or links to pages with nested links.
3. Respect the owner (Reason) and his site. If he asks you to stop doing something, consider it a rule that will result in you being banned if you continue.
4. Please do not bash other sites, site moderators, or members. If you have a complaint, take it to them. Also administrators and moderators reserve the right to edit any and all content of the message board. This said if you have an opinion or something to say, back it up with reasons and facts where appropriate. This will keep the flaming to a minimum. Please be respectful of other members when doing so - a variety of opinions is what makes the world go round.
5. No hateful language or behavior (racism, hate crimes, threats. etc. ) This also includes trying to get around the word censor.
The most important item of all.... This site is only as good as it’s participants, and it’s content. By understanding and practicing the items listed above, this will continue to be a great place to learn , and share common interests. This site was started to get Subaru Legacy enthusiasts together and trade knowledge and or ideas. I simply ask that you respect the effort that the staff puts into the site by acting like an adult. And remember even if you are a paying member (vendor or donates) that does not give you the right to violate the rules of SLi. If you are banned, you will not get a refund.
For breaking above rules you may be warned/banned appropriately!
I have read, and agree to abide by the Subaru Legacy International rules.
