Okay, before I forget... (about cellphones)

I don't know if I'm going to keep Verizon Wireless or go elsewhere for cellular because my wife is trying to get out of the cellphone she's using, and we can't upgrade just yet without paying FULL RETAIL for a cellphone right now (as opposed to the advertised 2-year plan rates now). I might have to find out how much it costs to terminate my service to go cheaper (like choosing Boost Mobile or Metro PCS, or something like that where you pay 50 bucks a month for unlimited talking, texting, AND internet).

Sound off - what cellphone plan do you have right now and how much does it cost? Ideally, I would like a new plan to cover talk, text, and internet for 50 bucks a month (or less). The Verizon plan for unlimited everything, last time I checked, was 100 bucks a month.

(By the way, I know unlimited talk is going to be impossible for that price. I am trying to get decent talk time with unlimited text and unlimited internet.)

EDIT: right now I'm paying about 100 to 110 bucks a month for my phone and my wife's phone, with 700 shared minutes and her unlimited internet, plus push-to-talk.

I know that metro pcs is extremely unlimited but not sure of the service. My lil sis has pocket wireless they're in the 50 bucks range but they're also still working out network problems. something with lines crossing. do your homework try googling the plans with review in the search.

Look into T-Mobile's Even More or Even More Plus plans.

Avoid Sprint like the plague, swine flue, AIDs, and the Clap.

You will get any and all of those from using their service. I'm HIV positive.

Your poll question is different to your thread question...

FWIW, my wife and I share 550 minutes a month, she has a Blackberry with unlimited text AND data, I have an iPhone with 200 text messages AND unlimited data, it costs us $160 a month.

The way it (typically) works is that you either pay for data, and get no talk time, or you pay for talk time and get no data.

On our previous plans I had a cheap Nokia 3200 and she had the Blackberry. We had the following plan:
    Unlimited shared text
    Shared 550minutes
    NO DATA
    Cost $120 per month

Sorry, I haven't visited the OT since I've been a member here.
I've been with Tmobile since they where called VoiceStream. We have a family plan, they keep us on the original price family plan from Voicestream but increase the minutes to stay competitive.
We pay 102 dollars a month. We have unlimited Tmo to Tmo, unlimited nights / weekends. Wife has 500 texts a month.
I have a Tmobile Mytouch G3, data plan, unlimited text and data and insurance.
    102 bucks a month.

Re: Okay, before I forget... (about cellphones)

Go to sprint and get the unlimeted data and text plan. minutes are only used if you call land lines you can call ANY cell phone and not not charged minutes. go at the end of the month and ask for a deal on the phone pluse the employee referal plan. puts it at $50 per month for a single line with better coverage and customer service.

Not sure on the family plan but will get a similar discount. or you can say you work for chase (no proof needed) and get a 25-28% discount

Re: Okay, before I forget... (about cellphones)

    I have AT&T, 2 lines:

FamilyTalk shared 700 minutes, free nights/weekends and calls within AT&T: $49.80 (corporate discount, usually $60. Just downgraded to 700, used to have 1400 due to work)
    Add Line 2: $9.99
Unlimited Internet on line 1: $15
    200MB iPhone plan on line 2: $15
    Roadside assistance: $2.99
    Taxes: ~$8
Grand total will usually be a little over $100 I suspect.

Texting is a ripoff with most carriers so we don't get it, I'd rather pay the same and get data. With the iPhone you can just send texts over the data plan anyway.

The last time I checked T-Mobile is cheaper for the same features, even if I didn't sign a contract and just went prepaid. It was tempting, but I'm glad we held off because I'm pretty sure T-Mobile has no coverage where we live now.

I priced out Verizon too since coverage is better where I live now, and it was almost disgusting how much more I'd pay to get the same features. Plus equipment costs seemed higher - it's nice that AT&T equipment (especially PDA models) seem heavily subsidized. And to add on top of that I've had nothing but aggrevation dealing with the Verizon people at my local store since we use it for work.

Re: Okay, before I forget... (about cellphones)

i have sprint (2 lines) and have unlimited data (w/ roam data), tv, nav and text with 1500mins and pay $129.99 +taxes. we hate sprint since they suck at billing, so we complain and they knock of 40% of the bill. but for service there the best around our area. tmobile, verizon, and att suck for service.

Re: Okay, before I forget... (about cellphones)

I work at a kiosk selling verizon, att, and tmobile...based on your needs tmobile will save you the most money on two phones get unlimited text/web on BOTH including 700 shared minutes for I believe 119... And if u have a costco membership go to them cuz activstions are immediately waived, u get all the accessories, and phones are 20-100 LESS than any corporate store...and I would suggest the new MyTouch 4g its sick and u can video chat with your wife
....and the membership alone pays for itself cuz its 50bucks and your phones will be free
...and yes I work inside costco lol
