Educate me on Digital Camcorders for in-car video

Like the Title says, I dont know too much when it comes to the newest technology for digital Camcorders. I know I want something with a flash based memory, something HD, something easy to upload directly to YouTube, and something with good quality audio.

This will be used 100% only in my car (or outside on a mount)- for Auto-x, Drag, etc.

Im not looking to spend a fortune on this- maybe $350 max.

I've looked at the Flip HD, Kodak HD, and some Sony stuff.

Who knows a bit more about the technology and can edumacate me with some knowadgge..... lol

Re: Educate me on Digital Camcorders for in-car video

I got a GoPro HERO Wide angle motorsport camera this year and its pretty sweet (think i got it for around $150). its really small and light, and if you buy a motorsport package it comes with lots of mounting accessories and suction cup mount works excellent.

I did not buy the HD camera but they do make one, that is exactly the same with HD quality, but it is obviously more expensive.

the main downfall with it is that it does not have a view finding screen so its a little harder to line it up exactly how you want so u know u have the angle you want. Also the sound quality while its in the clear protective case is pretty bad/quiet. besides that its pretty easy to set up and use once you read the instructions.

Everything is saved directly onto an SD card so its really easy to transfer or swap out for additional memory.

    anyway, check em out. http://www.goprocamera.com/
