Physically they are the same. I'm not sure about the gearing tho.
1998 Legacy 2.5GT: Stock to turbo to stock, and given to my Dad, then to my sister that blew it up. Now I've repo'd it and it will once again rise to former glory!
Yes, but they might actually use a different AWD system (TCU controlled). That's my main worry...
Project Domo
stick with the same generation and away from anything that was behind a H6(there is something about VDC in there that hoses things up) and you wont have TCU issues, you need to make sure the diffs match tho.

1996 Nissan Quest- 230k "Quasimodo" w/ Jacobs-omni ignition, ghetto hood scoop+CAI

2007 Subaru Outback 40K-bone stock-dads
2000 Subaru Outback 174K-the sis's ride way over on the WC

Okay, well I found out that my diffs are 4.44. Would the BE be the same?
Swapping rear diffs seems hard aka more money, so i'm looking for a transmission with a 4.44 ratio now
