    BD transmissions

Which transmission would fit best in my 97 Legacy GT?

    - BE Legacy GT auto
    - 00 Forester GT auto

    No manual suggestions please.

Physically they are the same. I'm not sure about the gearing tho.

Yes, but they might actually use a different AWD system (TCU controlled). That's my main worry...

    Re: BD transmissions

stick with the same generation and away from anything that was behind a H6(there is something about VDC in there that hoses things up) and you wont have TCU issues, you need to make sure the diffs match tho.

    Re: BD transmissions

Okay, well I found out that my diffs are 4.44. Would the BE be the same?
Swapping rear diffs seems hard aka more money, so i'm looking for a transmission with a 4.44 ratio now
