Some deep dubstep FTW
i love almost every skrillex song because of the intense drops and the sweet synth sounds, the dubstep tutorial and v.i.p. tutorial from dubba johnny are pretty good too
I like the soulful, housy, jazzy dubstep!

i havent heard of brostep but yea chuck i like the dirty kind of grungy sounding songs but i also like the clean kind that utilize good synths. for example here is a remix that is very simple but they have a lot of cool synths that in my oppinion takes it to a higher level.
... I just can't listen to Skrillex... ....... ... :smt012 :smt012 :smt012 :smt012Originally Posted by tylerkroh

well i listen to skrillex not because he is more "mainstream" but because the songs just sound right to me. What i mean by right is that a lot of the songs i have heard have a very wierd kind of beat that doesn't follow the 4 beat pattern if thats what you want to call it. Also a lot of people use too much or not enough effects or they put effects in a spot they just dont work very well. I play guitar and stuff so i sometimes have a keen ear to something that just does not soud right to me so my music range isn't very broad in the dubstep department, but what i do listen to i love.Originally Posted by chuckthefuk

Check out
I hear what you are saying but the constant back and forth of such extreme sounds / frequency in skrillex is poop to my ears...
I really enjoy these types of tunes..
Fytch & Captain Crunch ft Carmen Forbes - Raindrops <--- Fytch just turned 16 years old.. Hes going to be huge
Timeline & Daytona - Polterguise <--- These guys are my fav under-rated producers
Gaint - Party Starter <--- Huge Russian trio of bad ass-ness
Chasing Shadows - Red <--- Dark Dubstep
Flux Pavilion - Excuse me <-- Every tune he makes is a banger'
System of a Down - Toxicity - Dubstep <---- Not for everyone but super killer for the rock fans!
Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit (Dual Dubstep) <---- Classic for the true fans
and a surprise
Well 50 Carrot is probably my most favorite brostep.
my take on these: Fytch he kind of left some things hanging like he didnt finish the four step progression but for only 16 thats pretty good, poltergeist was ok once it dropped i couldnt hear anything but a lot of bass lines dropped in one area but when i listened to it agian it sounded decent, giant i just couldnt listen too because he kind of built it up making it sound like there was gonna be a heavy drop and then he used a high pitched distorted bass kind of sound and it killed it for me, chasing shadows was pretty good i could enjoy that, i also like flux pavillion too so no complaints there (bass cannon is another awesome one by them), toxicity was absolutely terrible for me i love the original of the song but they chewed it to hell IMO i couldnt take that one, the nirvana one was pretty good also its something i can listen too.Originally Posted by chuckthefuk
Oh wow... and that there is why everyone has a different opinion towards dubstep.
I dropped Giant - Party Starter at a festival last year and they went nuts!!
I guess its hard to judge a tune from the interwebs... quality is so restricted compared to playing it on club speakers..
...
50 Carrot.... hmmmmmmm.. some serious bass line business.. Its decent but I could never listen to this .. for me a melody or rhythm is what makes the tune.
i agree 100% on the judging from just vids on youtube lol but i feel like everyone without knowing it has a "stock" sound in there head that is the perfect song and anything that is relevant to that is what they like if you know what i mean by thatOriginally Posted by chuckthefuk
