    95 legacy with obd2 port?

i recently got a 95 legacy wagon and i was doing the led mod and realized that the preview owner took off the bulb for the cel. shady.

anyways. now i have a cel and been trying to locate the black connectors and just discovered the obd2 connector under a cover. ive read that these early obd2 cars have issues sync'n up with code readers. anybody else have this dilema? thanks in advanced.

Some cars have an OBDII style connector, but aren't actually OBDII compliant (GM did this for some of their 94s and 95s).

I'd say get ahold of an OBDII reader, plug it in and see if you can pull codes.

Re: 95 legacy with obd2 port?

I've seen a few 95 Legacys with OBD-1, but had the port for OBD-2. On the underside of the hood it say what OBD it is. Under the drivers side dash, there's 2 black and 2 green connectors (hopefully disconnected). With the car off, connect the black ones and turn ignition to ACC. CEL should blink the code. I've also seen these connectors on OBD-2 vehicles, I'm not sure if they still work the same way or not.

    My 1995 BD is OBD2.

Just be advised, its front-wheel-drive and an automatic, OBD1 vs. OBD2 may depend on drivetrain and/or transmission.

my 95 BD and has both OBDII and the green connectors i have read codes from the OBDII and from the green connectors so i think they both work some how.

Auto racing is boring except when a car is going at least 172 miles per hour upside down.

My OBD-II reader works fine on my 5-speed AWD 95 BK.

This is a 5 year old thread. I do not believe that jey still frequents this forum.

That being said, I answered your question in your other thread.
