    Re: GTDrifter's 2000 Impreza RS

Tail lights are tinted so the rear end aint stock anymore and i replaced the stromung midpipe with my stock one and now there are no leaks (had to cut rusty bolts off to separate midpipe from axleback)

I'll get pics and a sound clip later tonight or tomorrow

    Re: GTDrifter's 2000 Impreza RS

So since I last updated, I added a Duralast Gold Top Battery, VIS Carbon Fiber Hood (a huge thanks to b5a4 ), tinted my tail lights, and took out the unwelded, leaking stromung midpipe and put the stock midpipe back on so I'm running a stromung axleback.

For the hood, the previous owner primered it (which is good cause it would have gotten painted anyway). Today I removed the vents and scoop and painted all the mesh back to flat black instead of primer gray and am now waiting to start working again to get money to paint the hood.

I recently bought a JDM v2/v3 bumper with JDM fog covers and clear bumper signals which I'm slowly sanding to paint. Pics of those are provided as well

I'm in the process of uploading pics to photobucket and will post them as they are uploaded.

    Sorry about that. LOL
Darken up the hood or are you gonna paint it silver?

How goes the sanding of the bumper?

    Re: GTDrifter's 2000 Impreza RS

yeah lol...i got transferred to a better department at work which I start monday and it'll be about 3 weeks until I get paid and save enough to get paint

As for the bumper, its slow, tedious work that takes hours to do lol so far I have roughly 10 hours into it with repairing tabs and sanding each fin on the bumper down to the plastic because the primer and paint one of the POs used chips and peels. I'm estimating another 4 hours of sanding and then I gotta primer/paint/clear coat it. then its off to my friends house to use his L beam and sawzall for installation

    Re: GTDrifter's 2000 Impreza RS

Hood looks good man, painting the mesh black made it look a lot better for the time being.. yeah I had the same issue with my bumper it was a white bump painted cheaply black and chipped and peeled all the paint off. It's a huge time investment but it'll look great when its done

yeah...the hood shakes a little at 70 mph but I'm thinking if I get a shorter latch on the hood than itll tighten it all up.

    Re: GTDrifter's 2000 Impreza RS

    ^^ Thanks

Yesterday I changed oil. Finally located Royal Purple locally and threw 10w30 in

Also I didn't inform you guys that a few weeks ago my girlfriend was going to work. We said our goodbyes and I was walking back in my house and heard a loud bang. I turned around to see my girlfriends car pressed against mine with the back end of my car in the air. She had the look of utter fear in her eyes as she knows how much I care about the car. When she pulled forward I inspected both cars for damage. My car had some light scratches on the rear bumper and scratches on her rear bumper as well so it wasn't such a big deal and I just shrugged it off.

    Re: GTDrifter's 2000 Impreza RS

    An update...
Got paint for the hood, paint didn't match at all, then clear coat made it look much worse.
Got new paint for the bumper, tested it on a spare fender and it matches better than the hood, started priming the bumper until I ran out of primer. Picking more primer up tomorrow to finish and then painting the bumper, might as well repaint the hood while I'm at it.

    Re: GTDrifter's 2000 Impreza RS

went to install my jdm bumper today, started cutting an L beam with a hacksaw and got fed up when i got to the mounting points, then went to get a cheap reciprocating saw form harbor freight and the ******s closed as soon as i got out the car, went to sears and got a $60 saw for $30 (on sale). got home and went to use the saw til i realized the included blade was for wood, luckily my dad had a metal blade laying around. then it got dark so i have to finish it tomorrow.

You know what's really funny - the guys in NZ fight over the V5/6 bumper (your previous RS bumper) because they're all driving WRX's older than 99 and have your JDM bumper (V3/4). Personally I prefered the other bumper - it looks more aggressive to me. Might be because I had a GF impreza and did an upconvert to the V5/6 bumper.

    Re: GTDrifter's 2000 Impreza RS

    some recent changes:
got the rest of my new brake setup (2003 wrx front brakes with 2k on the pads and rotors), Version 3 STI rear brakes and Hawk brakepads for those, and a short ram intake (might be ebay)

intake is installed, started sanding the paint/primer off the hood (hoodscoop almost finished and it looks amazing)

also going to pick up STI blue carpet and Konig subzero 17" wheels on Monday (the ones from RS25)

Also got pulled over in Monroe Township, NJ when I went to visit the girlfriends grandparents. We were 5 minutes away from their house when the cop pulled up behind me, followed me for 1/4-1/5 a mile and pulled us over stating that we were "speeding". Then told me my registration was expired (which is because my mom shredded the application thinking it was for my wagon and didn't tell me it came in the mail) so Tuesday I'll be back in NJ to fight both tickets. Wish me luck.

Got the Konigs, painted them Storm Gray Mettalic. Had to get aftermarket lugnuts to install them. They will be going on Friday so I'll post pics when it's all done.
