    Hi. Thought I would just see what people did with their tax refunds, assuming that you got some money back. I did a little investing, and purchased some grown up fun.... Now before you start thinking dirty thoughts, and a Vegas trip.... Here is what I got.....

    Re: Where did your Tax Refund go.....

    not sure what its going towards yet, besides the insulating and sheathing of my garage and some other garage updates. We were thinking about doing a new deck for the house but will probably put that off another year. Either way I'm excited to get it as i got in on the first time home buyers, so its guna be a pretty massive return for me.

    Other random things it may go towards =
    4 piston wilwoods for the integra
    New header for the integra
    S&B intake for my truck
    Front exhaust pipe for my truck
    Finishing my Subaru so that i can actually drive it next winter

    Headbolts for the 3.3
    ACT prolite flywheel
    Megasquirt 3
    Group N STI motor\trans mount
    Aerocatch hood pins

    Re: Where did your Tax Refund go.....

    Lol no worries. I loaded the image from my iPhone and it wouldn't open it, go figure. I was in the same boat, looking for a while. The Rock River Arms (RRA) AR's are great from what I hear. I believe they are rated #2 behind LMT, but with LMT your buying the name. I will post the actual URL here in a second. I got the Standard length A4 (flat top/picatinny rail). It will actually be just as pictured. I paid $1100 after the carry handle and stock were added, which is pretty good. The LMT's were about $300 more. And the used/remanufactured ones were $800+. So I feel I got a good deal, and it has the Wylde chamber match barrel.

    I am doing complete builds. Cheaper and easier for me to do what I want to do with them. I have to be careful how I do it though, being this is NY.

    Nice. I had considered doing that but since this will be my first AR and I'm not at all familiar with them I thought it would be easier to just buy a complete rifle and maybe down the road do a build. But now I think I'm gonna buy a complete upper and lower to my liking frok Spikes Tactical and assemble. It'll probably go a little over what I want to spend but for what it is it shouldn't be bad at all cost wise

    Re: Where did your Tax Refund go.....

    A decent AR can be built for about $600. The same weapon fully assembled would be about $800. They are very easy weapons to build due to their relative simplicity. I want to built a full CQB Carbine, but the short barrel and collapsible Crane stocks are a no-no in NYS, unless I go with a 16" barrel and pin the stock.

    Re: Where did your Tax Refund go.....

    Sounds like a lot of cool toys have been had. I didn't know how many others people were into the ARs. Lol might have to start a new thread once mine comes in. I would love to build a CQD AR-15 with the 14.5 M4 barrel. Though I don't really feel like going through the ATF's SBR stuff. Not to mention $200 for the stinking stamp. Lol

    Re: Where did your Tax Refund go.....

    There really are so many possibilities when it comes to building ARs. I would love to get a .458 socom upper and quickly be able to switch between .223/5.56 and .458 and have very different purpose rifles but I dont have a need for it and the cost of ammo is spendy, so I cant really justify $700+ for another upper or 1000+ if I built a complete rifle. But I can dream right? haha

    Sig P226 is pure sex!!! Especially when it's chambered with a .45ACP round.

    Nothing like an AK47 chambered to fire 12ga rounds. :-)

    Just caught this post. Tax return went to:
    * bills
    * more bills
    * recommended service for my Subaru
    * Nintendo Wii - paid with cash
    2010 Red Impreza 2.5i hatchback - SOLD
    (Still driving a Subaru now, though)

    I don't think they make the P226 in .45 - it's in 9mm, .357SIG, and .40 S&W. But I still prefer the P226 over the new fangled polymer stuff, and SIG Sauer sure knows how to make guns sexy.
