Holy cow that thing is tiny, what does it have under the hood? I spy an 8.5K redline and with a 5 speed I'll bet that is fun to drive. Why don't we get cars like that here

Dude, we don't even get cars like this here anymore. They stopped making this about 15 years ago....

You are a lucky man to own a Cappuccino! I've wanted one for a long time(well since Initial D shows it off). What a great find!

Damn, I've always wanted a Cappuccino. One of my future projects (in an alternate universe) is a Cappuccino Hayabusa swap, haven't seen one before. I'll call it Espresso.

oh, snap! Nuts man, just nuts. There's a guy on VIP with one in Canada, a college professor. Anyways, these are so slick, and still nice and expensive for the age. I am very jealous, first because I'll never own one, and second because I'll never fit in one and therefore never get to even get a ride

Very, very nice Yamazaki. very well done.

    Re: Yamazaki's '93 Suzuki Cappuccino

Okay, I'm learning how difficult it is to come by parts for this thing. Even aftermarket part availability is pretty poor.
The wheels/tires are weird sizes too. 14x5 with 114.3 lug and 165/65/14 tires. I'm having a hell of a time finding anything less than 16" wheels with a 114.3 bolt pattern.
I also wanted to install a radio/headunit so I have something to listen to, but there are no harnesses for it that I can find. So I'm making my own...
I did a DIY grounding "kit" too. Here's what it looks like now:

    Re: Yamazaki's '93 Suzuki Cappuccino

So how would you describe it?
    Is it fast or... zippy?

They were pretty popular for tuning but I guess they're getting so old nothing's around anymore.

Not only have I found Hayabusa swapped Cappo's but there's one from near my hometown. Damn, I won't be the first. :smt009

Unrelated, but this is the site for the company that sells magnets to put on your car for more power, engine balance etc.

    Re: Yamazaki's '93 Suzuki Cappuccino

It's definitely zippy. It has no top end, but it's acceleration and maneuverability are better than anything else I've experienced. Although admittedly, I still haven't kicked the habit of driving it like an S401. The S401 made me "gear selection lazy" because it didn't matter what gear I was, I always had power. I could even start off in 3rd or 4th gear. It's not like that with the Cappo. It's retraining me to be more selective with what gear I'm in. Also, no ABS and no power steering means it's you and the car - no aids....well you get a turbo. The power is very linear though, you don't feel the "kick-in-the-pants" that one would normally associate with turbo cars.

The crazy thing is, if you look at the picture of the engine bay you can see that they could've shortened the car even more by compressing it a little more. There's so much room to work in there, it's amazing.

As for SEV.... I sill feel like it's a scam.

    Sounds good.

I thought the acceleration might be a little underwhelming judging by specs I think I remember, but I would guess it's nuts through the bends. And you sit almost over the rear axle, making things interesting.

Perhaps it shares a platform/wheelbase? But then it is RWD.

What about S12/S13 Silvia wheels? They are 15s with a 4x114.3 pattern or even a set of wheels from a Primera. 4-lug Mitsus all have the same bolt pattern as well. There are tonnes of cars in Japan with that pattern, as you probably already know. :-)

No, I didn't know. Thanks! Although, I still have to find them. Yellow Hat, and Super Autobacs didn't have any...

    Re: Yamazaki's '93 Suzuki Cappuccino

Those rims are..... interesting. I'll pass.
I already went to our local upgarage and they had nothing that fit. And upgarage charges stupid shipping prices (remember, I'm in northern Japan, so EVERYTHING is far away... ). Not to worry, I'll come up with something.

I hate when rare things are presumed to be desirable. For those who don't understand the difference...
It's rare that I crap my pants. It's usually not that desirable.

    Re: Yamazaki's '93 Suzuki Cappuccino

Wow, I like the third pic in that link. They're all cool though..

Now that I've learned much more about the Cappuccino, I've discovered that what I have isn't the one I want (not that what I have is bad, because it's still awesome). So I don't intend on taking it to the US with me.

I've added a strut tower bar and will take pics when it stops raining....

Really? What's the one you want and the one you have?
