cheapo ebay chip? They dont do anything at all, basically a scam for the automotive uninformed.

Not quite an ebay chip, but I agree. Search elsewhere for performance.

No EEPROM ecu can support a rom chip swap. This just crazy talk.
There chips are usually just resistors that trick the ecu into dumping more fuel.
Consider finding a local tuner who can OpenECU/ROMraider via Tactrix cable if you want to extract a few ponies.

But all of this is pointless until you unleash the breathing system:
-intake
-snorkle removal (air silencer)
-headers
-exhaust
-hi-flow cat
-plugs / wires
-cams $$
After those the tune will change the entire car but none of this comes cheap.
Tuning N/A is trial n' error. It all comes down to the tuner for efficient gains.
