    Off Road Picture Thread

I hope this catches on because not all Legacys stay on pavement. Share your off road pics!

I took the old man out for a quick trek yesterday morning to make sure he still had it in him.

    Off Road Picture Thread

I'm sure this doesn't count, but I'm of the opinion that it's not worth building an "offroad" Subaru when they can just never be very capable in the realm of things. I've got like $2k into my Cherokee and it goes every where I've ever tried.

Mines the black cherokee, my friends TJ is down on almost level ground haha

Nice XJ man! Are those 31"s or 33"s?

And I know what you mean about off road Subarus. I had a Cherokee too and there is no way in hell I'll take my Outback places where I took that thing. I still want another one.

EDIT: I found a picture of mine.

I really do miss that thing sometimes.

It's amazing where even a stock Cherokee can go.

Yes officer, I did hit a pedestrian, but instead of dwelling on that why not focus on how many I've missed?

Yeah, they'll never go where a jeep will, but they'll go a lot farther off-road than the average Accord or Corolla. I've done plenty of dirt road rallying as well as sneaking back into campgrounds the RVs won't touch. Here's a pic of my first one right before I sold it.

    Re: Off Road Picture Thread

My BD used to go off road all the time, till I started to care about it... I have had it on 2 wheels flexing it up, jumped it, and put massive scrapes on the rockers and the diff plate.

Not many pics from off road though...

Took the BH a little off road, but nothing crazy...

But a Subaru will never be like my Toyota....

Man I wish I had kept my 1st gen runner. I switched to jeeps because toyota's that aren't rusted in half are still way to valuable around here to afford to build on a budget.

Sucks to be you guys... Rusty anything over here is not much of a problem... I sold it for $2700 running and driving... Looking into maybe building a solid axle 96-99 4Runner now, just because I want to... haha

Do it, and chop the back haha. My next rig will either bea chopped WJ or a chopped SAS'd 2nd or 3rd gen 4runner.

Around here, a stock non-rusty solid axle toyota will easily fetch $3-4k. I have about $2-2.5k into my jeep with buying it haha.

He means off roading in general. I have both a slightly lifted Outback and a stock Cherokee. While as robust as the Subaru's AWD system is, the simple fact is my Jeep has solid axles, an insane amount of articulation because of that, low range and so much torque at idle, I don't have to touch the throttle to get it moving - I just let the clutch out.

I take my Outback offroad and not just driving on dirt. I've actually wheeled it. I've also towed a number of things out of mud. It's a great car for adventures and handles like a champ on loose gravel but if I had to take one on a serious off road journey, I'd take the Jeep.

This looks like the one that was for sale in Maryland on Craigslist about a month ago. It looked pretty sweet with the Cragar style wheels and lift.

Those are actually just factory 2nd-gen Outback wheels in black. I described it to my neighbor (who owns a dropped FXT) and he thinks he knows the guy. If he's thinking of the same one as I saw, it's got a WRX swap.
