I wouldn't recommend getting one without a resonator, especially you have a loud muffler or no cats. It will be very raspy.

With a chambered muffler it shouldn't matter, plus it would cost lest. Any straight through design I would recommend a resonator.

I still need people interested in mid pipes to pm 4zero1. If I don't get pm's they won't be made. This thread is for people who want exhaust parts for their car, not a fun poll to vote in. Can I afford an STI yet, not yet...
How about a bolt on UEL header option for the ej20r, ej20h, ej208, and ej206 engines for a parallel twin turbo conversion, also allowing those engines to be used in both RHD and LHD setups. They're cheap, easy to find, and could possibly open up quite the market for these swaps. I myself am waiting on the space to start work on mine and that option would make things much easier.
I think I drew it out as a mirrored version of the UEL single turbo set up with cylinders 1 (long) & 4 (short), and 2 (long) & 3 (short) sharing collectors going to the twins.
Haven't crunched the numbers, but in theory it could work?

I am interested in some kind of exhaust as i am still stock. i have a 2000 legacy L wagon. i am thinking of doing UEL headers but dont know much about exhaust systems.
Does it sort of goheaders to cat or highflow cat. then mid pipe. then axle back mufflers?
the only thing i was sure of was to look at 2.25 piping as i am non turbo. but i would eventually like a dual exhaust. possible with 2 dual tips?
I am also cofussed on weather or not i need resanator or not. It is a daily drive so nothing obnoxious but still a good growl.
Also i am curriuos i have permanent disabled veteran plates. so with no need to register again, i would think that would also go for no more smog testing. Wich may open up the possibilitys on cats etc.
I just need people who are interested to keep pm'ing 4Zero1 so I can get a count and what people want. I will ask you a few questions, and as soon as I know for sure what I'm making I will send out a mass PM which Ill ask everyone to respond ASAP. Each exhaust component may be a one shot deal, so don't hold off assuming I'll do another run.

I have no idea if I'll have the money when you are able to make this happen, but if you did either of the axle-backs, I would be quite interested. I'm not really looking for more than aesthetics for my wagon right now, so sound trumps performance.
... for now...
I'm still very interested in doing this!! I'd love to get a Dual HFC J-pipe, mid pipe with a resonator, and an Axle back straight through resonated muffler!

no single HFC j-pipe? dont need or want dual cat, just one. UEL Dual port headers at a great price is always a plus

I'v always wanted Borla UEL+some high flow cat+2.25" with resonator+lightweight strait threw muffler.
How about packaging these with some exhaust hangers?
And a 4ZMS or SLi laser etching or stamp would be sick for people to identify these, SLi laser etching on either side (like STi or Genom exhausts) of a big slant cut muffler tip would be *drool*.

Uuel single port straight through one cat chambered axleback muffler...I like the noticeable Subaru symphony of my dual port 2.2 before I retired it. Wonder if the single port will sound different after it goes in I will only have stock y-pipe with my setup.
