Re: Deads 94 Toyota truck Rebuilding has began! 8-27-13

    A photo update!

I took these on Thursday, I have been out of town till last night...

Fender removed.... small amount of core support damage.

    Broke headlight bucket

    Removed the canopy

    Bed, hitch, and bumper removed...

Also removed the front bumper and fixed the core support and headlight bucket.

Cleaned behind the cab and cleaned up the frame.

The frame was NOT bent at all! :smt026

A little damage to the back of the cab...

    And this!!!!!

    This, is NOT acceptable!!!!!!

... haha.... This is the only rust on the whole truck and I will be taking care of this. No cancer yet, so thats a good thing. The truck did live in Main it's first 2 years.

I've got a guy at work who can strip and reasmeble that truck in two days-though-a '94 was not part of the buy back or new frame program. Main needs an "e" at the end. Feel free to fix my poor spelling in this post

I don't care how you spell things...if this is directed at me.

I've known dead91silvia a long time, he corrects me on all sorts of things, in return I am one of the few that can correct him on spelling and grammar.

Have you ever considered dropping a second generation 4runner body on this frame/running gear? could be a lot of fun!

I don't thing it will work-I believe the frames are just a little different.

Nope, if I wanted a 4Runner, I would buy one.

And I'm sure you could make it work, but why? It would be so much easier to get a 4Runner and convert it to a 2WD.

Maybe I'm just weird and twisted that way. I know they made some 2wd second gen runners too. What would be even more fun is to drop a first gen two door body on that frame. Be waaaaay cool to have a slammed runner with removable top

Well.... Got an update for the little Yota!

I got the truck re-titled and pretty much done and re-built. I'm still looking for a nice condition tailgate, tail lights, and rear bumper. Also need to grab a marker light, but it's all small stuff.

Here are some more progress pics...

Rust repair done! Truck is now 100% rust free! :smt026

    New fender... 95 4Runner...

    Painted...

Back on the road! With my ghetto tail light... haha

Canopy back on... More so to save space in the yard...

I'm thinking of selling it, but I really dont wanna give it up. I like this little truck!

I got some new tail lights, just need to install them. Also might have found a tailgate, but it needs a little work and its gray. I might just hold out for a white one.

Re: Deads 94 Toyota truck TOTALED, AGAIN! 4-21-14

Well... The world just does not like my truck. My brother went to grab some lunch and this is what the truck looked like when he came out. No one around... SOB did this and drove off!

Not my brothers fault at all, he had it parked in a good spot that was open. This really pissed me off!

I already started fixing it, not going through insurance, even though I have the coverage. The last accident was with my brother as well, so I'm eating the labor and my brother is taking care of the parks.

I did start working on it though... Not a bad as it looked, but still a lot of work.

After about an hour of work

    I never updated this... haha...

Little "Jake" has been back on daily driver status for a while now as my work truck. However, with the arrival of the new Baja, "Jake" is headed for retirement. It's actually going to go to my dad since he just sold his Toyota 4x4 a few months ago, so he will us it for do all the little things he needs to do, will still be my truck, but just in my dads possession.

I have got a few parts to swap on ti it like a new hood and fender that are in great shape as well as a JDM custom grill I picked up. I get some snaps of that when it happens.
