Finally got the car on all four wheels, and she is tucking tire! Might need to get taller springs, and I'm looking for wider wheels.

I have a friend parting 2 s13's and I have some left overs. I also more connections for 240-260-280, and what ever else you would need Nissan... Dont know anyone parting a 510 though, that I cant be much helps with... haha

HAHAHA my bad. I heard from someone that a local yard had two 240s, and they are rare to find in a yard. I told my friend to get me the pedal and cable real quick.

I have the gas pedal installed, and the only thing stopping me from putting the cable in was darkness and getting up for work tomorrow morning. So hopefully by tomorrow my car will be able to move under its own power. I'M SO EXCITED!!!!

I DROVE THE CAR TONIGHT!!!

After yesterday's discovery of a leaky radiator I decided to "patch" the area and see if it would stop leaking. I turned the ignition, shifted into first, and off we went. I went up the back alley the car was sitting, stopped to close the hood I forgot about, and then drove down the side street. I then realized that I didn't want to go that far, so I backed her up in the street, and turned around back to where I started. I might also want to point out that on the side street is where the local police station is located, so even though I had a license plate and insurance, they might pull me over. But it was a lot of fun, and now my focus is on fixing the front brakes, and troubleshooting the lights. My headlights only work in a certain spot, and my turn signals do not work at all. Here's some pictures for everyone to enjoy!

Lake Datsun (now Lake Nissan) is still open. I'm thinking about calling the dealership and telling them my story. I'm not sure if any of them worked at the dealer when she was sold, but it would still be cool to contact them.

I still think there is something fishy about the history of the car. The engine was removed when my friend bought it, and the wiring was fried and melted. Now I just found char on the back of the underside of the hood. I seriously think this car had an engine fire. But it's reborn again!

as long as you don't find globs of bondo then the phoenix will rise again!

The only bondo is on the right quarter panel. That'll get replaced when I fix the rust.

You could probably ask to get a photo copy of the original paperwork...That would be insane and be really cool to show people

I already have the original owner's manual, warranty booklet, and warranty cards with the original owner's information. A copy of the original paperwork would be awesome! lol

Made some progress. Organized my boxes full of extra parts and packed them into my parent's shed. Really wish I had a garage to store everything in, but you work with what you have. Hopefully this week I'll get the final parts for my brakes, and a new headlight switch from eBay. Also running to a local shop to have the radiator soldered. Look for updates coming soon!

Made some huge progress this week. Attached the hardware for the rear driver drum brake, and bled the brakes. The pedal feels very firm and it stops the car which is always a plus. Also found a local radiator shop that had a OEM Radiator for my 510. $125 later and it was in my back seat of my car. Installed the new Radiator and found no leaks so far (although I did bend a few fins when I got caught on a bolt head from the crank pully). Also had an electrical issue with the headlights not working, but I think the high beams were turned on, so now they work.Hopefully this week I will get the rest of the electrical issues figured out, and then have some brave soul inspect the car without looking at the rust, and I'll be in business.

All of this work I've done to the car in the past month of ownership has finally paid off. I entered the car into a local car show, and took home first place. I will admit I was the only car in the "Nissan" category, but you have to show up to win, and I know that there are a lot of Silvias in the area that should of been there. What got me excited today was when people would come up to the car, and ask me "what is it?" It felt awesome to tell people the history that I know about the car, and what my plans are in the future.

oh yes. I had to stop halfway to let the engine cool down. Thanks to Chris we pushed her up a hill and had her back on the road. I didn't have any issues coming home.
