Not yet, I lost the sunlight working on the window. I will snap one tomorrow morning before I head to work.

    Re: rkrenicki's 2004 US "RS30" - One Tinted Window 2013-2-26

I woke up a little early today, so I managed to get the window in before work. I guess I just needed a clear head, because I had the glass in and the door all closed up in 15 minutes, instead of the hour that I messed with it yesterday.

Overall shot of the car, tinted window in and H6 badge on the door.

Inside shot to see difference between tint and the non-tinted quarter glass.

And yes, I had taped up the window opening with the bubble wrap that came with the window and then a tarp. They are off the car now, hah.

The tinted glass looks really nice!

I'm interested to see if your rear endlinks put up as much of a fight as mine did. I was planning on reusing them, but I may just end up cutting the old off and getting Rallitek endlinks for the rear.

    Re: rkrenicki's 2004 US "RS30" - Tinted rear Windows 2013-2-

I remember fighting with them on my 96 when I replaced that RSB, so I am expecting the same amount of a fight on this car.

Were the rallitek ones the same size/length as the OEM Outback ones?

    Re: rkrenicki's 2004 US "RS30" - Tinted rear Windows 2013-2-

I posted on subaruoutback.org and some members recommended the Rallitek links. Rallitek doesn't list any specs for them , they look similar but its obviously pretty hard to tell with just a picture. They are the same orientation and general shape as the stock ones.

    http://www.rallitek.com/RalliTEK-HD-...ndlinks/p-4270

Whiteline has adjustable ones but those are on the pricier side, I think around $150 or something like that.

EDIT: Just sent RalliTek an email asking if they'll fit the Outback even though they don't have it listed. I'll let you know if I get a response!

    Re: rkrenicki's 2004 US "RS30" - Tinted rear Windows 2013-2-

I was thinking about going with the Whiteline universal ones, but I guess I will see what the condition of the OEM ones are.

    http://www.whiteline.com.au/product_det ... ber=W23180

I think I am going to use this lull in new part installation to make the harness for the Supertones that I have been meaning to do for a while. Right now I am using the stock wiring, and I would much rather be using a relay.

I think the Supertones will sound much better with the relay. I heard a few people say that after they made a relay for them the sound was less whiny and more, not sure how to describe it, loud and sharper? If that makes sense.

I have read that as well. I hope it does change the sound some, because right now it does sound... odd.

Right now, the "security system armed" beep sounds more like someone hitting a 12" cooking pan with a hammer.. sort of like a "bong!"

Haha. Are you going to keep a stock horn in the mix to level the tone out?

Also, I got a response from Rallitek today; they said their endlinks are too short for the OB application. I kinda figured :smt009 There's not many options so I may go with the Whiteline endlinks you posted about.

The XV wheels look great on the car. I followed you thread on Subaruoutback, and then saw that this one was a little bigger, so I gotta start from the beginning. Sweet build and an awesome ride. How much did you pay for the wheels?

I may put one of the OE horns back on there too, I need to figure out where I stashed them.

The Subaruoutback thread is an incomplete copy-and-paste of this thread. This one is my primary worklog. The wheels were not cheap, about $1800 with new tires.

    Re: rkrenicki's 2004 US

I picked up some 20% tint at Advance Auto last night, and had a chat with one of the employees who owns a BG9 and a BE9. He recently joined this forum, but has not posted yet.

This morning I tinted the quarter glass and changed out the cluster face with the red version. The tint is not that great, I have not done one in many many moons.. but it is on there and it looks alright. I may end up having them professionally tinted in the end, depends on how much it bugs me.

    View from outside:

    View from inside:

I only changed the middle panel of the cluster.. I did not even have to disconnect it.

    Original panel:

    Modded panel:

    Buttoned up:

I also went and picked up my JDM Rain Visors from the post office this morning, but it turns out that they are for the BH.. I might be able to bend them into shape, but I am going to see what the seller is going to do first.

Windows look good bro. As well, like the change in the cluster, i like the red more. Keep it up, and let us know how the horns change with relay

I took my car to work today specifically because I knew I would hit a mileage milestone today.

I have decided however, that I really need to do the rear suspension as soon as possible, as the rattling shocks are getting worse day by day. I think I am going to end up replacing both wheel bearings at the same time as one is already suspect with the heat from the seized caliper last month.

    Re: rkrenicki's 2004 US "RS30" - Tinted rear Windows 2013-2-

I was laying awake last night for a bit, and I think I have an idea for why the bumper cover keeps popping off on the drivers side fender clip.

When I received the bumper and beam, I just slapped the beam on the car and bolted it on. I did not adjust it in any way.. In looking at the car, the gap between the bumper and the headlights is bigger on the drivers side,so I bet that the beam is slightly crooked.

When I find a little bit of time this week, I will pull the cover back off, and see if I can readjust the height of the beam.

    Re: rkrenicki's 2004 US "RS30" - Tinted rear Windows 2013-2-

I sort of fixed it. I need to take it off again, because I messed up the passenger side now, hah!

The bumper beam has quite a bit of adjustment room. I would say 2mm or so up/down/left/right. I took the cover off and loosened all of the beam nuts and pushed it all the way up before tightening it down.

This fixed the drivers side, it fits very well now.. however the passenger side now has no gap between the bumper cover and the headlight.. so I will have to push that one all of the way back down while keeping the drivers side all of the way up. I lost daylight today, so I will do that tomorrow afternoon.

Here is the uniform gap on the drivers side now.

I had not snapped a photo of the fender liner after I cut it to fit the new bumper, so I grabbed one today with the bumper cover off.

See, this is what I was talking about in the RotM thread. You have real attention to detail that I admire. Most people (I'm guilty of this too) just think "eh, good enough" and call it a day even if it bugs them a little.
I'm just too lazy to go the distance....

It is my mild OCD that makes me do that.. hah. The little things that I try to let go bug me until I do something about.

Speaking of which, one of the 4th Gen H6 badges I put on the doors is ever so slightly crooked, so I am going to have to remove and reinstall it this week.

I hate when badges are crooked, so I can see why you're talking about. Badges a meant to look stock, and if they are crooked, then it is open to scrutiny. I've been back and forth on fixing my Subaru bade for that same reason.

My Subaru badge is not crooked, but it is centered to the plastic on the finisher and not to the metal on the car which gives it a non-centered look.. it is also too low when comparing it to the actual RS30.. so, I may end up redoing that one as well.

I have the Outback fogs on my shelf, but not the legacy ones.

In other news, I got screwed out of return shipping on the JDM Window Visors.. so I am back to square one on those, less $50 or so.

Window visors? Sun visors? What colour? I have some.

Is it the wheels that make your car look like it's sitting so high or have you lifted it?

It is an Outback, so it is lifted because of that, however the black wheels kind of make it look higher too.

I am looking for the Rain visors for a BE. I bought some on eBay, but they sent me the BH ones.
