    Lancaster6's 04 USDM Lancaster6 - Stuff and Things

What's up SL-i, this is my second Subaru and second Legacy Outback wagon. I picked up this BH from a dealer out in Ewing, NJ in the summer of 2012. She had about 90,000 miles and change on the clock when I drove it off the lot. This has been quite the journey with this car, and I have learned a great deal about what makes this car tick. This site has already been an invaluable tool as far as maintenance and knowledge goes, and I can't wait to learn even more!

South Jersey FINALLY got a measurable amount of snow! Sadly no hooning was to be had. But on the bright side Stockton cancelled classes for the day.

In other BH news I attempted to replace my ball joints which promptly turned into a shit show. Pinch bolt snappage was only one of a myriad of issues. I eventually just had it towed to my mechanic so he could take on the second ball joint (which he had an even worse time with).

I stumbled upon a thread on NASIOC about a switchblade key fob kit that used a 2009 Legacy key fob module. I did some research and eventually figured that the 09 Legacy fob would work with my OEM Alpine alarm system and bought the parts for it. I was right! I got the kit assembled, the key cut, and now I have a clean looking flip key for less than $50. I'm certainly down with that.

Yes officer, I did hit a pedestrian, but instead of dwelling on that why not focus on how many I've missed?

Thanks dude! I'm quite happy with how she's coming along.

And I'm still keeping my eyes open for clean BH's being put up for sale in my area! Nothing yet...but when I see one you're getting a prompt text! Hahah.

Today I replaced my scratched up A-pillar trim with some almost new looking pieces found at a junkyard. I also installed this little guy that I got from Yamazaki. I love stuff like this, since it's the little details that really pull everything together. However a much better mod also bought from Yamazaki is currently in the works!! Over the next couple of weeks there might be some progress, so stay tuned.

I'm extremely happy to report that aside from commuter duty the Lancaster has a new responsibility; hound hauler! I adopted a retired racing greyhound over the weekend and he loves riding in the car. And due to wagon awesomeness I can easily put his crate in the hatch and strap it down feeling confident that he's safe.

Mods to come include a beautiful BFM and maybe some tints.

And a pic of my adopted grey:

Very nice. My neighbor only adopts former racing greyhounds. Its odd, the two she has now get along great with each other but not any other dogs.

That is quite the unamused, gimme my ball right now face he's got working there! I'm working on teaching my guy how to play with various toys. He's getting the hang of it but somehow the corner of my wooden coffee table always seems to be more appealing to gnaw on.

You know, I was really concerned that he would take too much interest in our Shih Tzu but he has gotten along with both him and my German Shepherd absolutely perfectly.

I've been putting off buying LEDs for all the interior lights for a while, but after superbrightleds had a promotion for 15% off I figured that I have waited long enough. I went ahead and purchased LEDs for every interior light: cargo light, dome light, map lights, glove box, puddle lights, illuminated ignition ring, you name it. I got them all installed and I seriously regret not doing this sooner!! I love how clean and modern it looks, and not to mention how insanely bright the interior gets now. The only bulbs I didn't replace are the vanity lights in the visor....I seriously have no clue how those will come out without breaking (anymore) plastic bits.

Well...it's been quite a long while since I've updated this thread. Some minor things have changed on the BH, but a fairly significant change has arrived on my stoop this afternoon. Stay tuned to see what unfolds. Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1443129999.016135.jpg

Well, it's in! My JDM BFM has been installed and is working flawlessly. A huge thank you goes out to rkrenicki for all of his help. I've got some LEDs to put in the halos but that'll have to wait until after this potential hurricane rolls through.

Agh I've been slacking! Between work, a recent trip out to Seattle, and a non-functioning computer, I haven't done much car related things. That will change very soon though with some nice updated car pics.

In the meantime here's a picture from one of my new favorite places. I <3 you PNW. :smt055

Blue halo pic inbound! I finally broke the camera out this evening and got some shots of the BFM after I installed some blue LEDs. I never get tired of looking at it.

Holy crap I totally forgot to look under my dash at that keyless entry module. Sorry man, I feel like an arse. Let me know if you still need the info.

And yep, just blue T5 LEDs. When I got the cluster some of the bulbs were burned out in the halos so I replaced them all with LEDs. I like the blue better than the orange/yellowish of the incandescents.
