    Snowflake questions

1.) What is a good price for a slightly scuffed set of snowflakes?
2.) Will 14 in. steelies clear the brakes on a 2001 Legacy L wagon?

    Re: Snowflake questions

1: 150-250, at least over here.... No tires, or bad tires. Good tires, 200-400.
    2: No, they will not.

Okay, thank you very much. Now to find some 15 inch steelies with halfassed decent tires.
A coworker of mine is willing to sell me his 'flakes wearing baaaald tires for $75 plus steels with decent tread tires.

    Re: Snowflake questions

You can go with 15" steelies on an '01. But if you decide you want to upgrade to the bigger 02+ Legacy/WRX/03+ Forester front brakes, you'll need 16s.

Beleive me, he's never going to touch his car other than to finish the butchering job his mother began. She drove it like she stole it, and he drives it for Dominos.

I may wind up buying it after he gets something new. Mechanically, it's pretty decent, but the body is trashed. No rust that I can tell, but there's not a straight panel on the thing. Which means, I won't have to worry about hitting stuff off-roading.

    Re: Snowflake questions

Aaaaactually, I just put my new set on. Did exactly what I threatened in my last post, and bought the whole car. It's the one Rkrenicki and I are parting out. And since we've basically broken even on the car already, they were free.

    Re: Snowflake questions

They will. they're 16" wheels. The brakes on the 2003-4 Legacy are the same as all H6 third-gens, so they'd have to clear them.
