So on July 2, 2013, I signed my life away for a new car. No more second gen. Enter the 2006 Outback L.L. Bean sedan.
These things seem to be very hard to fine. After I test drove one for the hell of it, I fell in love with the 3.0R. I was thinking turbo was my future but I'm glad I found this.

No complexity, no lag, all power!

Well...First mod...Had it for more then 24 hours before it was done. It's a free mod too. DRL disable. I know and understand that they are for safety but I forget to turn my lights on due to everything but the rear lights and center console are lit.

Bug guard will come off next week most likely.

Can you explain how to do that on your car? My dad has an '06 and we're not exactly sure the procedure to disable DRLs.

Under the dash near the pedals is a black box with a white plug and a black plug, Pull the white plug.

Well. DRLs have been reconnect as it was causing a airbag light issue I think.

Did it happen immediately after you disconnected them? Nothing going on with my dad's light yet.

It didn't happen immediately. But it went away once I plugged it back in. 05-06 you could just unplug that connector. 07 plus needs that connector plugged in but you can undo a pin in it to disable. The 3.0r model tends to be an odd ball with like wiring and brakes to what I have noticed.

I am now thinking it was something else (maybe a loose connector or a bad solder connection in the overhead unit for the passenger airbag).

It's going to get that connector pulled again.

Well. When I bought the car, The AC compressor was iffy. Thats fixed at no charge to me. Picked up some OEM all weather floor mats.

DRLs have been disabled again.. Its a bad connection causing the airbag light.

And on my way to get the AC fixed. This happened.

Question. What do you consider this car to be?
4th or 3rd gen.
Its based on a 4th gen legacy but is technically a 3rd gen outback.

I would say gen-4 unless you are on an outback-only forum.

Yepo, it is still a BLE car so it is 4th gen Legacy.

I do not understand the Outback generation labeling since it is the third generation in the US to have the Outback name, but that does not work for other countries. For example, Japan did not use the Outback name until the BP/BL.. so by that logic it would be a "1st generation outback" there..
