Late response but yes I have a v4 gf8 on my 97 gt wagon and fits great. The only mod if you wanted is to create 2 more mounting hole on the bottom side for the lower seats but its not necessary.

Requires a little more work and would give you about 1/4-1/2 inch gap on top between the folding seats on stock brackets. It'll require you to drill new mounting hole that locks the seats by the rear strut area. I've used the 02-07 middle seat bracket and legacy's outer bracket but still left a gap. GF impresa have a better fitment and requires no mod unless you want to make the extra mounting points on the bottom.

This is accurate. Since the JDM GF8 seats have 2 piece upper and lower, the lower sections have 2 brackets/hinges each. but the USDM seats have 2 piece upper and 1 piece lower, so only 2 brackets/hinges total for the 1 lower piece, and only 2 mounting points total for the lower pieces, so the JDM GF8 seats only have 1 place to mount per piece
