    2014 August ROTM Voting!

Which is your favorite WRB Legacy? It's time for a battle for August's ROTM title!

(WRB, for this contest, pertains to a color similar to WRB, but it doesn't have to be WRB specifically.)

So out of these three, which is our favorite? There seem to be a lot of people on here that just like other models more than the S401....

I have to be honest, I voted for NickDaBassGuy's car because, (No offense to Yama and Dewess,) I feel that the S401 winning would be kinda like buying ROTM. the car is so spectacular that with nothing done to it, it can easily overshadow something like Nick's car, even though Nick's been putting his heart and soul into his car.

Ah, I see there is a misunderstanding on my part. I was not reading between the lines and was just going for which car was my favorite. Now, if it's about who has done more to their car or who has stuck by their car the longest, then of course I will change my vote. Not taking the owner into account and just seeing the cars on the street, I will always choose the vehicle that I would buy if money were no issue. Who among you would honestly keep your car if offered an S401 in trade? (Although I think it would help immensely if you had the experience of driving it first to help you with the decision) Or choose a Brighton over a GT-B(or RS)?

I 100% agree with Muse that the S401 (or S402 if one ever comes onto this forum) will always trump any other because they are the epitome of what their respective models could've been. It's the same way an E63 AMG will always trump an E320, or an RS4 will trump an A4. To say that your favorite of the two is the lesser model would be a lie (for us car enthusiasts anyway). Nobody picks the lower model because they think it's better, it's only for financial reasons. But if cost is equal, which is your favorite: STI or WRX?

If this isn't about the "favorite" car, then we should re-word the poll to "most personalized" car. Or, we should restrict certain cars from entering because of its inherent unfairness. Isn't that what happened to the BNR32 GT-R? Banning the S401 wouldn't be insulting or embarrassing. It would be admitting that it's just too good to compete with anything else. But making it compete and then having it lose against other Legacys, just makes me wonder about the voters. Again, if it's about the personalization, and not the car itself, then I will retract my comments.

We all have opinions, this just happens to be mine.

    Re: 2014 August ROTM Voting!

I think you're misunderstanding me. I think that you should vote for your favorite car, hands down, and without question. I was simply explaining my vote. I voted, not just for the car, but for the feeling behind said car. Honestly, I'm in the same boat as Nick, and while Dewess has gone through a lot to get his car from Japan to him, I just don't feel the same kind of... I dunno, empathy, maybe, that I do for Nick. My voting for Nick's car is in no way saying that either of the other cars here are inferior. I just like it more because of the story behind it.

    Re: 2014 August ROTM Voting!

There is no basis for any votes in ROTM. If some people pick the car they would buy if money was no object, that's just as fair of a vote as from someone who values an extensive mod list and the time someone put into the car. It's all down to personal preference. In my opinion, I'd love to own an S401, but if someone puts a lot of work and time into their car, they should be able to run with the best. I have to give credit to those guys who work long hours on their car over someone who simply purchased an S401, even though I'd still take the S401.

That's what makes ROTM fun, you can't necessarily predict the turnout because you don't know what everyone values in a winner.

And this is exactly my point. Theres plenty of cars I would take if someone just gave it to me. We all have different opinions, we all have different criteria we follow when we vote. Who is anyone to say the next person is wrong?

Fair enough, I can respect all of that.

On an up-note: This has been the most activity in a RotM thread in awhile....
Maybe I should try to start some arguments more often.

    Re: 2014 August ROTM Voting!

I agree with Yama. I looked at the mod list, looked at what one appealed to me, and then realized that the S401 is my favorite. Not just because it's rare, but because of driving one I know the car that it is and also the fact that the owner took the time to import one.

That being said, it does not make the other cars less, I just prefer the one I voted for.

And as for the Accent? I'm gonna start buying them and restoring them. They are such amazing cars, but nothing compared to the ever rare Hyundai Excel! Only car better is the Yugo.

I raced a turboed Excel... that thing was as fast as a GT-R! Took right off! I was out of breath after the 1/4 mile and it was still going.
