In Sept 2014 I bought my 3rd Subaru, a base 2001 Outback 5MT. It was rough on the exterior as the previous owner did not have very good spatial skills and didn't believe in washing it, but it was at least taken to a mechanic regularly.
It had 176k miles on it when I got it, but the short block and transmission had both been replaced about 3 years ago and only had ~30,000 miles on it.

I already have two other project Subarus, an 08 FXT and an 02 OBS (see signature for those threads) so I'm, going to take it easy on this one, hopefully. The current plan is to bring it up to the Limited trim level and maybe do a few more items, I hope I can keep the mod-bug at bay.
