That time of year is coming back up on us soon, and after some brief discussions with some of the other members from last year, I wanted to start an Official planning thread here.

The meet will be on April 4th, 2015, and we will start at 11am, and we will see where it goes from there

Re: Planning for 2015 3rd Annual Mid-Atlantic Meet

If it's the last weekend in March, I would be out for sure.

I had been talking to Yamazaki about this in the past few months and we are both thinking that April might be better served since we keep getting rain each time. I'm thinking at least mid April.

Oh, if you couldnt tell, I'm planing to come again... haha

April is a possibility, but we will have to come up money to pay for the site fee. That was really the only reason for doing it prior to April.

Either that, or we will have to find another location.

Re: Planning for 2015 3rd Annual Mid-Atlantic Meet

Oh, I know. That was one thing we talked about was the cost, but I feel it could be much more fun if we got better weather. If we could figuer out what the cost is and maybe everyone pitch in, it would be pretty cheap.

I need to start looking at airfare again!

And no, I'm not driving one of my cars over... Unless gas hits $1.50 a gal...

I'll be holding you to that, it might not be all that crazy. We're almost down to $2 in PA. $2.23 on my way to work this morning to be exact.

And yeah, I'll definitely be there.

Regarding costs, keep in mind, we'll likely take up all of the parking spaces (and then some on top of that). I fully expect the park to try to force us to pay for all 3 pavilions there.

The other thing we talked about was if I'll even be here at that time (and with that, a place for you to stay). Well, I finally received confirmation yesterday from my work that I will not be moving in March. So we are clear on that front.

Indeed! That is one of the primary reasons why I bought this up now and not last month.

Even thought it may cost a bit, April will be warmer too.

Re: Planning for 2015 3rd Annual Mid-Atlantic Meet

Well, here is the issue with paying for the site. We are typically large enough that we take up pavilions E, F, and G. We only use one of the buildings, but all of the cars take all of the spots.

The lower price is for residents of the county. So, we are looking at $450 if Yamazaki does the order, or $540 if someone else does.
    - Centennial Park Pavilion E -- $150/$180
    - Centennial Park Pavilion F -- $150/$180
    - Centennial Park Pavilion G -- $150/$180

So.. long story short, if we do not do it prior to April, we should really look at another site. Perhaps the college parking lot, Yama? It should be pretty empty on the weekend.. Unless their security will have a problem with that..

If we need to seek another spot, I can bring my little portable grill. it's not much, but it's better than no grill, and no burgers. Also, I'm not sure if my car will make it or not, but I'm gonna save everything I can, to try and make it happen. If not, I'll see about catching a lift with someone... And, yaknow... If I don't have my car, I suppose you could convince me to drive the Blitzen again.

I just looked it up... it looks really scenic, but there isn't a whole lot of parking available it seems and I cannot find a place to set up for food.

I don't foresee security having an issue (they'll come out and see what the commotion is once and then go away), but there isn't much scenery to speak of and it also suffers from not having any tables/benches to set up food/refreshments.

If we don't care about the lack of scenery and we are able to provide our own tables/benches, then that giant parking lot should be more than adequate.

If we need to fall back on a second location I live right beside a state park in southern PA. They have unlimited amount of parking spaces, and is close to the original spot (an hour and 15 min north of last years meet). The reason we do it so close to here is because I bring the S401. Since the S401 is unregistered and uninsured, I am not going to drive it very far. If people don't mind not seeing (and if the weather is good, riding in) the S401, then we can have the meet anywhere. This will be the last year for the S401 to make private appearances as well. I do not plan to have it by the fall.

I kinda agree with moving it forward to nice weather. Although, it was the rain that was annoying not the temps. The park by Chad's place is really nice, but it would be sad not to see the S401 one last time.

Let us start first with a date. I made a poll of every saturday from March 28th to May 30th. Let us all vote for a date, and then we can figure out where based on that.

Feel free to select as many dates as you want. I personally do not care which day it is right now, so I selected them all.

    Re: Planning for 2015 SL-i Mid-Atlantic Meet - Pick a Date P

Just a heads up, Boxerfest was the first saturday in May last year. Wouldn't want these 2 events to overlap.

That would be a good place to promote the STi and the S401 for sale Yama! At least bring the S401 to Boxerfest if you would put that in the car show event you would win hands down!

An idea I just had was maybe somewhere with a view of the Chesapeake Bay. I can look into it a little more if there is interest in that?

Let's figure out a date first, and then we will hammer out where. Feel free to put your idea in here, and I will do a new poll once the date is figured out.

I know this doent revolve around me, but I'm absolutely not able to come in March.

That being said, I need a date at least 2-3 months before hard so I can shop for airfare.

It's still a pretty important factor though. If we can successfully schedule it so everyone who wants to come can come, then that would be preferred.

Dates in May would be harder for me to make.
