DIY: Installing STi wing on BH.

I got a deal on one of those rediculous STi wings for the BH and figured I would share my experience in disassembly and installation of one.

So, idk how they get these off the doner cars. I'm guessing a cut off wheel or pure luck. Anyway the first step is to remove the screw and 8mm bolt on the under side of the wing.

Once you do that (Do not start prying!) they are double sided taped to the wing.
I got a sharp scraper knife to break the tape apart. The plastic seems to get very fragile over time.
Go at it like this very carefully.

Once you get it free you will see this.

Then take off the lower plastic cover. (Also taped to the wing)

Now take all your interior hatch trim off.

Line the wing up and mark the two easily accessible holes. (Hard to do this and take a pic)

I used a 7/32 drill first for all holes and then a 5/16 for the larger holes.

Here is an idea of where those holes end up on the under side of the hatch.

The outer ones are easy to get to. I found it best to feed a bolt in from the bottom with a magnet for the middle one.

    I can. Thanks.
So anyway. Kinda hard to see but there is a mounting hole under this braket.

That hole ends up close to the other main bolt.

Now you've got your wing mounted.

Slap on your bottom and top covers and your done.

Obviously I still have to paint the side covers and retape them and seal the bolt holes through the hatch, but this is a general idea of what to expect. Will the exception of first getting the side covers off this wing is fairly easy to install.

I'm digging it too. Wasn't sure how I was gonna feel about it since I could never find a pic of it on a car.
Plus being an STi part I would assume it's intended to be functional......at speeds this car will probably never see, but still. Lol.
