How do you remove the ignition switch??

I am trying to remove the ignition switch on my 90 legacy and I am stumped. I have the entire column apart.

2DL, a little late, but hopefully adding to the knowledge library of SLi.

    As per Haynes:

    Ignition Switch Replacement:
    1) Disconnect negative from battery
    2) remove lower trim panel from steering column
    3) remove the knee protection plate from the underside of the steering column
    4) Trace the wires from the ignition switch down the steering column to the connectors at the lower end of the column and unplug them.
    5) Remove the screw retaining the switch to the lock cylinder housing.
    6) Pull the switch out of the housing.
    7) Installation is the reverse of the removal. Be sure to align the slot in the switch with the blade on the lock cylinder.

    Key lock cylinder
    1) Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery
    2) Remove the steering column covers
    3) Remove the steering wheel
    4) Remove the ignition switch from lock housing
    5) Remove the shear-head retaining bolts from the lock cylinder housing. These are located on the top of the steering column tube. You may be able to unscrew them using a hemmer and a sharp punch, knocking them in a counterclokwise direction. If they are too tight and won't loosen by using that method carefully drill into the center of each bolt and remove them with a screw extractor. Separate the bracket halves from the steering column and remove the old lock cylinder/housing assembly.
    6) Place the new lock cylinder/housing in position, install the new shear-head bolts and tighten them until the heads snap off.
    7) Install the ignition switch
8 ) put the rest of your interior back together

NEVER NEVER touch the leads or wires of the Airbag system with electrical testing equipment. IT MAY GO OFF IN YOUR FACE OR BREAK YOUR ARM SHOULD IT BE IN THE WAY!!

    WILL CAUSE INJURY!!!

    that is all.

    Thanks Gator....

I just sent them the entire steering column because I couldn't figure it out. Now I know for future use.
