So I have been thinking of doing this for a long time and finally got a scoop and some balls to cut up a hood.
I would rate this job as a 3 from 1-5 If you are not mechanically or dont have any autobody experienced, this might be a little past your ability's.
This was about a 2 hour job for me with a hand full of standard tools. Never mind the used up grinder wheel.. haha
-Right hand tin snips
-Left hand tin snips
-Chanel Locks
-a couple files
-Sharpy (not shown)
-Cut off wheel
-tape
-and a mini hackzal =)
I got a carbon scoop from Ebay UK for a GC Impreza. Not the best cast, but wored great for this mod.
Line it up where you want it... keep in mind you want to make sure the lines are not off. It can make a lot of work for you or just not look right when it's all done.
Top of the hood after a bit of trimming...
Bottom needs a bit more work... LOL
Scoop needed some filing to make it sit right...
And here she is.... sitt'n pretty. =)
You can see where the body line of the Impreza hood is supposed to be, but meh...
Oh, I forgot, I did use the retainer panel for the stock GC vent to bolt the scoop down. Just need to cut it to fit the scoop hole.
So there you go! Much more to come with the hood, but this is a little mod just about anyone can do if you take you time.
