Help me lift my 2000 Outback Sedan BE going big

    Hey Everyone,

I was on sli a lot while swapping my Bd, but have been Mia for a little while. I was hoping to get some help with lifting my 2000 Outback Sedan. I picked this gem up for cheap and figured since it was rusty, turn it into something worth taking into the mountains.

Does anyone have any experience lifting one? I was looking to go forester struts up front, but because it's multi link in the rear, I'm not sure what to do? I came across this picture, and it's bad ass

This is what I picked up:

Your inspiration photo doesn't have a Subaru drive line, so how much work do you want to do?

As far add lifting it, 04-06 Baja suspension Wil give you 1.5-2 inches of lift, and you can add spacers on top if you want. Be mindful of you axle angles though

you could also try a set of king springs
like nepbug said you'll want to watch your cv angle, there comes a point where you'll have to space the subframe spacers because of the angles

I know the first one isn't on a subaru chassis, it's just quite epic.

I'm looking to go with a kit, cut the fenders, and quarters out, then try and fit 31's under it.

Going with 31s will give you about 2 inches of lift just by itself.

Since you're willing to cut your fenders that will help with clearance, but if you're not going with coilovers then you're going to have to run a low offset wheel to clear your spring perch.

Running those wheels will give you a lot more tire poke and will increase your aggressive off-road look.

Here's an Impreza with the kind of wheel poke I'm talking about.

That's exactly the look I'm going for. Is that due to needing to run huge wheel spacers to clear the perches ?

The Impreza pictured isn't running spacers IIRC, but he's running wheels with much less offset, same end result though, tires stick out further so that they clear the spring perch.

    Here's the wheels he used:

so your stock tires are about 26.5" to go 31 isnt too bad. i'd start with suspension first to see how much it gives you.
Front find the tallest strut that you can, forester sounds right, same for the spring find the tallest that fits.

For rear i'd go turbo baja 05-06 rear springs or just get a generic 3" dia springs from summit in any length that you can fit on the strut.

at that point figure out how much more you need and where.

ps. outback forum has a lot of good info. I hope you are doing something with the engine/tranny to turn those tires

I'm not exactly sure what size tires. I mostly want to cut the rust out. The drive train will get some work, but not sure it I wanna go na-t or a 2.0l swap. I'm likely just going to use this to do some wheeling in the mtns in Colorado. I'm not after a lot of power, if any, just needs something else to help with the altitude.
