I have been battling issue after issue, after 3 defective water pumps and many overheats I have reason to believe that my one or both of my headgaskets has been cooked. Coolant in the exhaust, hydrocarbons in the reservoir and coolant pressure building and forcing my new radiator cap to purge. I intend on putting together a high compression motor with pieces I have and a few I will buy. The car had some knock when I started it for 30 seconds to move it the other day.

I'm intending on having the heads and block re surfaced to ensure no warping and having the crank checked/new bearings. Amazingly I'm trying to keep the cost down.

I have the 99 phase 2 ej25d wanting to use these items I have:

1999 ej25d case halves/crank
ej22t aftermarket forged rods
ej25d heads

Looking to use these parts if nobody has any better suggestions:

1996 ej25d pistons
mls ej251 head gasket (that's the thinner one, right?)
delta cams (possibly)

Parts in question:
Do any larger/better valves fit ej25d heads from oem applications? (reasonable price)

Thanks in advance for any input.
