    amgarrety's 2010 Subaru Forester X

    And so begins another adventure.

Introducing the newest addition to the Subaru fleet, my 2010 Subaru Forester X

2010 Subaru Forester X Premium in Satin White Pearl, chassis code SH. That’s what the people at SOA consider it. But to me, it is so much more.

Life has been busy the past few months. Got a new job, bought a house, and started experiencing the joys of being an adult.

But it’s not all joy. With age comes a need for practicality, not to mention the ever approaching threat of being boring and out of touch with the youth.

But I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t have to be that way, at least not for me. Practical can be fun with a few modifications.

I introduce to you the start of another project, my 2010 Subaru Forester X.

Why the Forester? To put it briefly, the B4 was proving less and less practical with each passing day. I can’t fit furniture or a large amount of groceries inside. The need to redo all engine gaskets is looming in the near future. The entire car needs a refresh that I can’t adequately provide at this time. It’s just time for something newer and more reliable. A little more interior space wouldn’t kill me either.

I decided on a Forester instead of an Outback simply because I found a great deal on the Forester first. Luckily, it seems that there are still a few options to modify the Forester to my liking. Maybe not on the same level as the Legacy, but I’ll still be able to make it a little less boring.

This will be a slower and less impressive build than my USDM B4. I’m planning only a few minor modifications, because the #1 rule about this vehicle is that it must remain practical.

For those who are wondering what I did with the B4, I still have it in my possession and will work on trying to refresh it over a period of time. It has just been demoted from daily driver to project car status.

So, time for complete honesty. I don’t have the Forester yet. I’ve purchased it, but it I’m waiting on the dealer to produce a title and ship it to me. So I probably won’t actually have the car for 2-3 weeks. But that didn’t stop me from starting down the rabbit hole that is buying parts. Priority #1 – make the thing look better. How?

    And

Which when put together will look like this

And the sick irony is that I purchased those items yesterday, so they will all arrive before the I even take possession of the Forester. So I get to sit and look at these parts for a few days before I can do anything with them. Agonizing.

Future plans are as follows, in no particular order.
    -Spoiler
    -Sporty Wheels
-Better Interior Sound System (OEM woofer and tweeters will do)
    -Roof Rack Crossbars

And of course the list will grow over time.

Nice man, congrats. I've always thought that this body style was kind of "meh" until I saw what the owner of Overland Designs did to his. Damn these things have some potential...I guess some practicality is lost along the way though.

That's kind of the route I want to go, but in white of course. And NA.

I did realize yesterday however that I am, in fact, an idiot. The bumper I posted above is the bumper I meant to get, but instead I ordered a stock bumper, and had it custom painted for me, so now I can't return it. And the bumper cover that I do want is difficult to find since it's been discontinued by SOA, and the ones that I can find are expensive.

So I guess I'll just have a spare bumper for now and keep looking for the under spoiler.

But I did receive the grille, and that is as expected, so at least I'm part of the way there.

Some people have winter and summer tires, but you have winter and summer bumper covers.

Is this the under spoiler? Subaru Forester SH Front Underspoiler

I occasionally browse the Forester forums and the NASIOC classifieds so I'll keep an eye out if that's the same thing.
