    Neons

What do you think would look better a neon black light or a neon blue light under the glove compartment. Just wondering if you think the black light gives off more of a purple light. Thanks.

I had blue neons under my seats and black lights under the dash board. It looked pretty sweet at the time. Since then I removed my blue neons and dont use the black light (just too busy to take it out)

Yeah listen to Mr. Pimp Game is way strong with his Nextel. Just get the LED's. You will be happy and you can leave them on forever as they use less juice than neons and they are brighter.

I agree with the perv, L.E.D.s are better than neon's. If I were to do it I go L.E.D.

Don't listen to Tirstan...he doesn't even own a cellphone. His engine died in his car so he cut a hole in the floor and has to do it flintstone style. He hooked up the ALT to the axles so he could listen to the radio while the car is moving.

Get the LED's and then you can thank me later. I'll take cash, check, money order or bidpay.

Yeah, I'll hold the light spectrum lecture like I hold my pee; sooner or later, it's gonna slip.

Yes LED's are a more focused beam but all and all you can get a ton of LED's and string them up together and make some wicked stuff.

    Someone quote this....

"Just think of LED's as track lighting for your car."

LEDs are much more energy efficient than neons, strobes, halogens, whatever. The only thing is, do you really want a pink floyd laser light show in your car? Especially at night, when the cops can see you (and probably get you on something for it, since a lot of the stuff is illegal) and its dangerous too. But if you have your heart on lights, go with LEDs. Neons will get you pulled over just as quickly as LEDs unless you're shining one at the trooper hiding in the dark

Edit: You can always get yourself a switch, I suppose.

Did you get the track lighting thing? You can pretty much aim LED's and point the light where you want it. Yes they give off light on the sides but for the most part it is a focused beam. The LED bars are slightly different then the individual LED. If it was me I would get some of those super bright suckers off ebay and fab up some custom brackets and mount them pupies someplace where they can't be seen but when you flip that switch they are like colored spotlights in your car. Hook them up to your alarm too so that your car is like a disco show to let people know your viper is armed.

I wouldn't mind doing some LED action myself.

If you are into interior lighting, I've got an idea... I've seen it done, but never liked the stuff enough to actually put it in m car.
So, here it is: Black light, and details of the car's interior painted with stamp fluorescent ink, invisible unless black light is lit.

    How does that sound?

Acutally, If I could rig up something like that for my HVAC controls (cause one of the bulbs is burnt out) I could have a kickass display and I would actually be able to see where I'm sending my A/C! Great idea ddctd!

I actually thought about putting LED's in place of the temp indicator (blue to red) on my climate controls.

Ack. I can't stand flourescents to begin with. Black or any other color.

And neons in/on/around cars just aren't what get my attention....well, okay they do, but cause I'm looking at what NOT to do.

Just not my style. I'm not one for such high-flash floss.

yeah, I agree. I HATE neons...but I don't mind using stuff like that to make things more functional. Like our dome light? weakest thing you ever saw. so I'm thinking of using some white lights to put in the speaker wells in the doors so you can actually see when the doors are open (I'd set it to be triggered by the electricity to the dome light).

In fact I've even turned OFF my dome light. All I have when I open the doors are the little door lights at the back of the door card when the door opens.

If I need to see something when I'm getting out, I turn on the map light.

nice and subtle. stealthy even. everyone makes some sort of comment about it.

I love black lights. You should totally install like 6 of them, everywhere so you can get enough coverage. Black lights are a gift from god. They give you tons more UV light deterioration for your eyes than the sun, and since you can look at them at night, you never have to give your eyes a break.

I get beamed by blaclights on a daily basis. After the first night your eyes get over it. I remember coming home from work the first night and I couldn't sleep cause my eyes were plastered open from the strobes and blacklights.

    My maplights work great....
