Sorry. They are actual handles for the interior door card that you can grab. Was an old dealer option.

How far back are you talking here? I have the OEM Accessory catalogs back to 1998, and there is no mention of anything like that. I really cannot picture what this would even be. Can you provide a picture of what exactly you are asking about, even if it is on a different generation or model?

EDIT: Are you talking about some sort of flexible strap handle to pull the door closed? Like something that would be used for Gull-wing or scissor doors?

Huh, I have never seen those before.. or if I had, then I hadn't noticed that they were wider than normal armrests...

I found one thread on NASIOC about these, and these pictures were worth 1000 words.

I want to say that my old 96 Legacy Outback used to have these. I cant seem to find any pictures of the doors to verify that, but they seem pretty familiar.

Where did you source yours? I assume you have to get USDM ones, because the JDM ones would be set up for the larger driver's window switch panel on the right door instead of the left door.

I like the look, they somehow make the door cards look more "upscale" to my eyes.

Thats crazy, i have never seen your little dinky handles. Guess the JDM cars we get here all have the long handles.
