So i begin the hunt for a new subaru. After 2 weeks deep of constant searching, i had purchased this beauty
1998 Legacy GT
159,000 km's (now at 190,000 km)
NO RUST AT ALL
its a 4EAT but deal was too good to pass up

i put leds everywhere and ordered some headlights and fogs bulbs, next mod is to get rid of that stupid tape deck!
i know the pic is horrible just trying to show how CLEAN this thing is
i have to clay bar it and polish and wax, to get rid of all the little swirl marks

Well i finally got rid of that awful tape deck today. and as you can see even the leggy was happy to see it go



Going to go to the pull yard tomorrow and get some headers! let the fabbing begin!

well I've started taking merivale to fallowfield home from my job (since huntclub is stop and go now even at 3:30 when I get off every day)

Spotted the red beast for the first time today. boy does it look good, even from a distance
I cant wait till I can buy another 2nd gen GT. Very jealous, in a good way

thanks man, i have i whole new feel for this car vs my last..i want it to stay very classy and clean..Everyday i walk out to go to work and i think , god damn this is one clean car for a 98...

on the plus side i picked up some dual port headers today and will start fabbing MUHAHAHHA

Nice. I assume your on stock suspension? Since its low km and looks 100%stock and well maintained.
How does it compare to stock L susp. From your last car?

I always thought the suspension in my 99 was a little high but really fun and responsive.
Cars101.com says the GT's get fancy sport suspension.
I've test driven a couple 2nd gen L's (looking for cheap cars) but never tested the suspension out.

i find something kinda fishy with the milage...i wonder what the story is behind it...i know it is very easy to roll back especially when i swapped my cluster on my old car. if its an "out of province" car with no record then def reg flags...but yet again looking at the engine bay and body kinda see 53k being true.

I dunno... that driver's side bolster is pretty crushed... more than I'd expect to see in 53,000 MILES, let alone a mere 53,000KM. I mean, mine were pretty trashed when I got my cars, but they weren't as bad as that, and I had near to 200,000 miles on two of them and 261,000 on the other.

(i know i really should have used rubbing compound but the results still turned out great)

The paint looks awesome, like It should be sitting in a showroom
The antenna looks funny, On my 2nd gens I pulled the carpet back a bit and unplugged the antenna so it wouldn't go up
It made a weird clicking noise when It went up and I hated the look of it.
I did loose radio reception quality as a consequence but I never listened to radio back then anyways

I still love those GT snowflake rims

haha thanks, you should see it sitting in my driveway today...yes i hate the antenna, i'm almost sure the mast in it is broken so i left it unplugged, and thinking about pushing it down halfway or so

no i got rid of her about 3 weeks ago to clear up space in the garage, although it was nice have my own little pull yard for the time being

so i dont have any pictures but, one of my calipers seized so bad , when i was driving and came to a stop my brakes were SMOKING ALOT.. so ran to the parts store and 50 minutes later i had new rotors, pads and a new caliper installed, with the system bleed..I love challenges it happened at 11am and i had to leave by 3pm the same day...i was done by 1:30
