legacy outback vr just outback suspension

My 2000 legacy outback suspension is shot!! When I look up parts, a lot of them just say they are for the outback.
The year for the new parts is 2000-2004.
Is there any difference that I should be concerned with?
    thanks for any help,
    jm

Well is your car a legacy or an outback?
98 GT -- Intro to Subaru. Cooked HG, dead suspension, and lots of ricer mods.
02 Outback H6 -- No more HG issues, but ate two 4eats.
09 Subaru Tribeca -- slow and ....um fat, definitely fat.
13 E350 S212 -- No more Subaru!! Why does that make me happy?

That is the question. The side and back emblems say Outback, but the registration says Legacy.
    Is the DWV just confused?
    thanks for the reply,

well if you have body cladding all around then its an outback,
if no body cladding then its a legacy

thanks for the reply. Not sure why the dmv is calling it a legacy; but it is an Outback.
    thanks,

Technically speaking, it's a Legacy Outback - a trim level for the Legacy platform. I don't think Subaru markets them that way anymore, but back when your car was new, that's how it worked.

And yes, suspension the suspension is specific - mostly struts/springs though. If you bought replacement struts/springs for a Legacy to put on your Legacy Outback, then you would be much lower than you are now.
    Current:
    2005 Legacy Outback H6 (Battlewagon 2.0)
    Former:
    1999 Legacy Outback 2.5 5sp
    2002 Legacy Outback H6
    1997 Legacy Outback 2.5 5sp (Battlewagon 1.0)
    1996 Legacy L Wagon
