Here's a thread of me and my GF's 98 off road rig, i've got lots to add so it might be out of order

1998 Legacy L wagon 4EAT with 220k IIRC and a bad oil leak, bought this with off-roading in mind, AC works etc.

Interior
-Dealer option Door grab handles
-99 Wood vent and lower radio bezel, with wood window switches
-04 LL Bean wheel with stock airbag

-3rd gen front seats (driver power) Heated

-Custom door inserts
-Alpine Headunit with AI link Bluetooth
-Noico Sound deaning with noico Red foam backer

-Muffler delete
-oil leak for rust prevention (hopefully fixed)
-first gen strut and engine cover
-inferno fab header

Drive train
-2006 Forester Struts
-Outback rear sway bar and body mounts
-Front sway bar disconnected
-Outback XT Tires (will need to check size)

-Smitty built Jeep bumpers

-MH1 retrofitted 5K Bi-Xenon HID headlights
-96 L Fog lights
-05 LGT Mirrors hacked onto 95 L bases

the day we got it

came with a muffler delete


stock headunit and trim

first thing we did was remove the awful hood, found a green one on sale day at the junkyard for 25

looked way better, used a plate bracket from pricilla's car on it a bit

we did custom door cards and door grabs next, stock cards were bad so picked up some 97 door panels



noico sound deadening with Noico Red foam added on top (no pictured) hoping to keep it cooler/warmer when we camp in it at some point


wood wheel, wood vent/radio bezel, 3rd gen seats, under seat sub, black carpet, etc all happened next

next was the basket on a stock rack before going Yakima later on, Her brother Jason let us use his garage to lift it, did 06 Forester Struts, OBXT wheels/Tires, Outback rear sway bar

picked up some jeep bumpers

welded on

took it out to browns camp, OR

Did a Mini H1 Bi-Xenon Projector swap

New Headlights and started installing pod lights

picked up an inferno fab header for $100 off FB, DEAL


Fairing for $20 off FB too

Replaced the oil pan, cleaned up some varnish and sludge




installed an inferno fab header


dropped the pan to do a trans temp sensor and filter change



hoping this solves all the oil leaking

There was a guy at the junk yard with a green lifted wagon like this. i was talking to him, he was saying he put a locker for Torq works in his.

Great thread! How did you remove the door cards? I had my doors off recently, it looked like I would have to drill out the plastic rivets.
