I keep a count when I get gas. Ranges between 23-25mpg depending on how much in town driving I do vs. the 40 miles highway I do to work.

Ok, I'm lost. Why would you want it to go to sleep vs. constant data feedback? It should be a menu item option to turn that feature on or off.

ok, i found out now. in the manual pg. 22. There's a setting just for our 1995-1999 subarus. where it change the PIDs to Supported mode. and viola! the gauge stays on now and the readings are consistently jumping up and down according to the engine load etc...

so yes, the answer is read the manual

Yeah that's what I was talking about before. The manual was in my car so I couldn't go find the page number.

I guess we should feel special.

My manual calculations before were always 22.5-23MPG, I'm already over 24 by monitoring my instant MPG to achieve the most whenever I drive.

Yep, 22-26 mpg is a common range for 2.5l motors. Subaru claimed 19/25 when the LGT first came out.

Your manually calculated averages are probably more accurate vs. the instant MPG most of the readouts give actually.

Re: Scan Gauge II by Linear Logic

Any chance that you can hook it up to a laptop too? The end of the cable that goes to the gauge looks like an RJ-45 (ethernet) plug. My brother's been looking into getting one of these soon, he's dying to break 40MPG in his Civic.

Re: Scan Gauge II by Linear Logic

I just got one of these. Wish I'd have had it when my GT was overheating, but maybe it was best that I didn't.

Now I can find out if it's the TPS or Knock Sensor causing the problems...or both.

Also, FWIW, the new unit I got was firmware 3.17, which includes XGauge. XGauge lets you program in some additional functions and is a $25 ship-it-to-us-for-the-upgrade for older units. Keep that in mind if XGauge interests you and you get an older, used unit.

I tried getting signed on with them and it was a huge process that I've yet to see. I'll look into it again and see if I can get them cheaper and we can do a GB.

Man reading this thread has made my decision for me and If I get the job at autozone I might see if we can go a group buy through them if people are interested. I would see if we can get the same price as the employees or a little more but it's a 20% employee discount so it would come out to $127 or right around there.

Re: Scan Gauge II by Linear Logic

FYI... I just came across this site that will allow group buys. Either 4 or 10 at a time...

It will also automatically include you in a group buy if there is enough people to do so (not sure how that works)

http://scangaugesales.com Click on the buy now button to see the group buy options.

$139.95 per unit for 4 or more (with free shipping)

$129.95 per unit with 10 or more (with free shipping)

Also... it looks like this guy is in the Portland, OR area by the looks of the bottom of the web page:

"ScanGaugeSales.com is authorized by Linear-Logic, LLC, manufacturer of leading ScanGauge II products.
Contact Us with your questions, comments, or for more information. Your satisfaction is most importent.
    email: warren@scangaugesales.com or phone 503-407-8073
Technical Support email: service@linear-logic.com or phone 480-656-4089"

Anybody looking to buy one with me???

I tried my brother's in my car and couldn't get it to give me stats. I'll have to try again, I want one.
