I've been thinking more and more lately I want to lower the wagon. What options do I have that won't make the back end of the car sag?

Eibach Pro Kit and KYB GR2's drop you 1.5-2" and don't sag in the rear. It looks the best of most setups I've seen, though the rear arch is cut slightly different than the front wheel arch, so you will always have a slight appearance of sag.

The legacy already has a bit of a sag in the back. The H&R kit drops the front 2" and the back 1.5" IIRC
If your THAT concerned about sag then I'd say coilover. Sybir knows a lot about them, but search around for his post, i think his members ride page thread explains it well iirc.
I beleive he's running 02 WRX ones.

It's not really sag, it's just an optical illusion because the fender doesn't curve as high in the back as the front.
Whiteline makes a wagon specific spring setup.

i dont want to open a new thread so i'll ask it here, what's the height difference between the regular weagon and the outback on this models?
98' Subaru Legacy Outback
89' Toyota Supra
I'm gonna assume taller struts/springs/tires.
alright well I want the front and back fender gaps to appear the same width apart.

doesn't look too bad. Wish the back didn't optically look saggy AT ALL but what can you do. Subaru made the fender lines that way! I'm more about looks at this point but ride quality should be pretty nice. A full coilover setup would probably ride too ruff for daily driving.
Anyone know where I can get the shocks and springs together for a good price or seperately atleast?

Check the for sale section here. When I bought my eibach's and GR2's from Mr. Choung, there was another seller selling the same set NIB for a good price. The eibach's are discontinued, so try and find a sedan driver who wants to sell them. There are only a handful of wagon owners running the same setup.Originally Posted by VR4ownzU

are the sedan springs the same as the wagon?

If it's anything like the BE/BH, the wagons should be stiffer in the rear.Originally Posted by VR4ownzU
There are no wagon springs. The eibachs are only for the sedan, which is why it is surprising the stance is so good.

But yeah, they'll mount the same.

I want the right stuff for my car not some guessed solution. I might look into coilovers if the price isn't going to big too much of a difference. Whats the cheapest coilover setup I can?

Like I said, whiteline makes wagon springs. The weight difference between a wagon and a sedan is about 100lbs. Sedan springs can handle 100lbs extra in the back without a problem. It's not a guessed solution.

I'd say just go with Whiteline control springs spec'd for a wagon. If you want to be even lower, opt for the flatout springs.
400 for springs? You'd be ripped off. They go for much less than that.

H&R makes springs for a wagon I believe. They sell them on ebay occasionally and on tirerack.com
My bad. $300 for Whiteline control springs. Well, $300 + shipping.Originally Posted by Wiscon_Mark
$350 for H&R's, but I recommend staying away from them. Besides, the Whiteline units are built specifically for the wagon.
Do the Whitelines sag more in the back than the Eibachs?

Probably not, considering they're built specifically for the wagon.Originally Posted by VR4ownzU

STI is the new medically accepted term for STD.
i don't know if this helps the discussion at all, but i'm running '04 STi OEM springs and shocks on mine, drops the wagon right on top of the rear tires (gotta get skinnier tires, or roll the fenders now!), and looks surprisingly even. the ride is pretty stiff, but the handling is awesome now!
i paid $150 for the springs, shocks, and top hats (and i think that you actually do have to get the rear top hats, but your stock fronts will work just fine), used of course. the stiff ride isn't for everyone, but if you can snag a full set for around $200 or so, it's definitely a good option to consider.
oh and by the way, Sybir runs '04 STI coilovers (forget which brand) on his Outback. i've never ridden in it, but his car doesn't seem to ride as stiff as mine does as i recall.
Sybir runs the Tein Flex off an 04 STi. Aren't the 04 STi Flex the same ones that are used on an 02-04 WRX? I'm just wondering what the cheapest coilover option is that isn't used. I could spend a year looking for a used setup off an 04 STi. Theres no local Subaru shops locally getting used and new parts for Subaru's. I want to lower the car on my JDM Legacy 17s and possibly some 04 STi goldies.

Tein Flex are a pretty good street-option. Firmer than OEM.
I'm not sure how they'd cope in Ohio.
The K-Sport ones are pretty nice too, you can get a full set for $1200 shipped on ebay.
