A front subframe connector or front frame brace. its just to reinforce the chassis of the front of the car under rough suspension conditions or extreme engine torque twisting

I could be completely wrong, that pic isnt the greatest indicator as to where that is on the car but thats my guess

Like sheepdog, my first guess was something similar:
Lower H brace, as found on Ebay. (it's JCSpeed, it probably is Egay )

But I went with lateral acceleration brace, just cause I want one.

since you can see the door and the front wheel in the second pic and using some common sense it's a three point brace that connects the cabin structure (coming down from the a-pillar) to the fender structure from the doors forward.

they help maintain a decent contact patch during cornering loads. think of it as a strut brace that controls flex along the side of the car instead of across the width of the car

Well you did say that you didn't know what it was...I was looking up parts of the Evo-VIII once and there are a few manufaturers that make similar braces. I hadn't heard much about them before but now that I have I've been seeing them for more applications, plus any modern factory race car uses them (JGTC, V8 Supercars, etc.) I think Vivid Racing sells them

Eat my ass with a spoon, please.

My parts car at home has a piece in a similar location, what I believe would be the stock part for what the item in question replaces. I can grab the part number and run it later, and see what FHI calls it. Would that help?

    It's called a cowl brace.

These braces replace the flimsy stamped steel original braces that connect the front strut towers to the sturdier A-pillar. If you have a front strut bar, these are the key to finally strabilizing the upper mounts.
