Mr Max... I need to have a talk with you about details... I may be getting motor funds verrry quickly...
Honestly, not too many people have been very involved. I usually work on this thing late at night after work. Usually when other people are out there, we just end up sitting around and drinking and starting large fires for my drunken roommate.

Engine funds for the VW or legacy?

I started on my IC piping today. Looks like the stock fogs are going Bye-bye.

I don't know when the duluth trip is, but I've hoping to have it done with in the next month. Right now I'm at a stand still cause I can't find a picture of where I need to drill/tap my head for the coolant and oil, and I'm not about to take a drill to my newly-rebuit heads with no idea what I'm doing.

On a side note, does anyone know what type on oil fitting thing I need to put into my oil pan?

ej22t:AWESOME! Your not gonna get one around here though, we pretty much cleaned out the area.

I got my zeitronics today, and I might be buying a differnt turbo, I haven't decided yet.

Updates...I'm waiting on parts, and information right now. I'm thinking of just springing for a new Forced Perfomance 18G, but i am still undecided.

well, I don't have any pics ATM, but the motor is reassembled, and may be back in the car tommorow or sunday. I still need injectors, Exhaust, and a turbo. I'm probably gonna build my own 3in TBE, I'm using SR-20 injectors (not sure on size yet) and I'm going with a Forced Performance, EVO3 16G. There's the update for now.

Update: Sorry about the lack of pictures, My little sister stole my camera...I'll get them up asap.

The car is Wired! My subie wiring god of a freind wired the standalone last week, everything is basically ready to go, I just need to hook up the GM boost control Solenoid when i get it. I also need to wire up the autometers.

Ok, so here's an important lesson for you. WRX STUFF IS NOT A SIMPLE BOLT ON! I ended up buying full aftermarket exhaust for a 97-01 WRX. The uppipe barely hits the bottom of the passenger side head. The bigger issue is the fact that the stock WRX turbo's outlet goes straight into the TB. So, I'm in the process of clocking the outlet 180degrees. Oce that's done, I am going to have to cut up the uppipe and get it all to fit in there well. I hope to do that tonight or tommorow night.

Sorry for the novel and no pics, I'll try to get some up later this week.

    Here's some pics:

    Engine back in

Battery relocation: I used 2 kicker distribution blocks, one for the engine bay end, and one for all the grounds in the trunk. I think this made for a nice clean looking installation. Oh, and don't worry, I'm not using that battery, I'm gonna pick up a closed/sealed battery. Either an optima or a stinger.

Here is where I mounted the zetronics LCD. I was not to happy to discover that I have to buy the EGT and boost sensors for it seperately...So until I have $200ish to drop on those 2 sensors, this thing is virtually worthless...

And here's my friend T-leg in my garage. We were putting 3" TBE exhaust on it. I was hoping that having a running T-leg next to it would motivate my car to get it's self running...it didn't work

But, now that the hardest part (as far as I'm concerned) is done!!! Thanks to my wiring genius friend, my links and zetronics are wired!

And finally, this is my uppipe I was ready to finish up when my welder crapped out, and I got angry and drove my truck over a tercel.

    And the "Anger Managment"

So that's where my car sits. I'm bringing my welder into the shop today and hopefully I'll have it fixed soon so I can finish all my pipework.

I got a lot of stuff done this weekend, here's the picture worthy stuff:

    IC Piping

    Hot Side

    Cold Side

And the ECU and Wideband. It fit nicely into the stock ecu spot, with some minor adjustments of course.

I'm still shooting for Start up by this weekend, but we'll see how that goes.

it either needs an oil pump seal, or a front Crank seal. Since I already have the motor pulled apart again, I'm just gonna do both.

Oh, and also, autometer mechanical temp gauges blow. I've owned 2 in my life, and I've had 2 leak from the sensor. So, no more buying autometer mechanicals.

It runs, and left my garage under it's own power for the 1st time ever tonight. There's some kinks to be ironed out, and LOTS of tuning to do, but it runs. As far as I can tell boost comes on at about 2500rpm's too...I'm happy.
1998 Legacy 2.5GT: Stock to turbo to stock, and given to my Dad, then to my sister that blew it up. Now I've repo'd it and it will once again rise to former glory!

Yeah, I'm gonna have to do that this year...

I figure the ice tires and a ginormous swaybar will make ice racing fun
