    So Far

When i bought the car it did come with stock gt "snowflake" wheel, 1 with a crack so got one from a pull yard and decided to paint them up

Sanded down and used a can of etching primer

Then a few coats of gold and clear coat

Was able to score some Hankook Ventus v4 215/55r16 for cheap

With almost 200k on the stock ej25d its ready for a now heart, im currently working on a DOHCEJ22-T build

Stock ej25d intake mani, i stripped down, cleaned up and painted

I have a set of ej25d heads as well, they are modded with a coolant and oil return

Also did some cleanup on the heads

When i got the car it had the stock lgt front bumper but car had been in a small accident and the front bumper support was bent and never replaced, my buddy scored me a outback support bumper and fogs that weren't tag on a car that came into the scrapper

One day i was bored and decided to instill my lamco boost gauge, to bad it never make it past 0..... yet

Was delayed on the build for a couple months as my wife and I purchased our first home and had been working on the sucking up both money and time, but i now am officially a home owner and have a garage to work in

No pics but got my inner/outer tie rods and lower ball joints in, as well as replaced my leaky power steering pump

And then back to the frankenbuild

    Ej22e with 134XXX on it

    Parts came in!!

Ej222 headgaskets match up perfect with the ej25d heads

How it looked when i pulled of the 2.2 heads

Cleaned up the pistons and replaced the rings

I just got in my rear main seal as old one looked like was leaking a little, also got the separator plate as the 2.2 motor has the plastic garbage cover on it originally. Hoping this weekend ill have time to install them and get the heads and intake all bolted up

Looks great. Welcome to the forum. What have you done to the GT bumper? If it's not all cracked up I can take it off your hands
My greatest feat with my car is the constant willingness to keep it on the road for no apparent reward.

Thanks, i take pics of everything haha. Was quiet easy as well, toss in on a couple pieces of wood to make painting the bottom easier. I couldn't resist the wrinkle red paint

There is an oil galley on the back of the passenger side head that makes for a much cleaner and less leak prone oil feed

It's been almost 3 years since I did this, so bear with me. I believe the Adapter for the Oil feed is a 12x1.25mm to -4 AN fitting.

For the water line, I drilled and tapped it for a 1/4" NPT fitting. I then used a (I believe) -6AN adapter.

For the Oil return, I just bought the closest size drill bit I could get to matching the oil return tube off the 22t heads. In hind site, I should have used a larger tap/fitting and used an AN line here too, I still may rework it to do just that.

Feel free to quote/ edit this if you have more details on the sizes, like I said, it's been quite a while since I did this.

Re: Daves 98 Legacy Gt - Update: 6/25 Oil feed install

grayguy was spot on with the fitting size, 12x1.25mm going in the back of the head and my oil line is -4an fittings so i did order myself a fitting and will be swapping the oil feed over

    Some parts did arrive though!!

should be swapping the motor in the end of the month while the wife goes on vaca

Re: Daves 98 Legacy Gt - Update: 7/11 Almost time to swap!

Why not just get a turbo subframe? That's what I did on my project, so I could run a factory turbo exhaust manifold and get the classic boxer burble. Can also slap on a wrx k-brace when you do that too.

Also, do the USDM DOHC heads not get the blanking bolt on the back of the right head? You just whip it out, and put a factory banjo bolt and oil feed like on, done.

You CAN use a WRX crossmember you know, then your UP and DP can be off the shelf parts.

Yeah, but if he's already got the custom pipes, why do all the extra work?

Re: Daves 98 Legacy Gt - Update: 7/11 Almost time to swap!

I was going to swap in a legacy ss crossmember but i already have the custom pipes sitting in my garage from a old build, right now dont have the funds for the crossmember and want to replace the rack while im down there. For now ill be running the custom pipes with my oil feed coming off the back of the pass side head with a 12x1.25mm to -4an adapter

In the future she will get a new rack and a turbo crossmember (thank you wentz912, didnt know i could use one off a wrx, will be easier to find a wrx member than the leggy ss member), as i will want the ability to swap in upgraded exhaust parts with ease, and yes get the scooobie brumble

It's not a "bolt on" fitment using the WRX crossmember, so to speak. But from the best of my understanding it is JUST that the lower control arm bushings on the WRX are "wider" (IE the tabs they go between are farther apart). So, one is left with a few options. First, shim the Legacy bits with washers or the like. Second, put WRX bushings in the Legacy LCA's. Third, put wrx LCA's on along with the crossmember.
