In order for a dyno tune to be effective however, you need to have aftermarket EM right? What is a cheap(er) solution for EM that would be useful with a WRX engine? Or am I incorrect on this!? Thanks!

It's runnin' rich, so leanin' it out would be better.
Can Anyone recommend a stand-alone?

Ahh with a proper tune you should be nice. For a standalone I'm thinking about using GReddy Ultimate. Have you looked into anything yet?Originally Posted by SiouxBe

This Dyno was a Dynamics and don't forget the altitude.
As to the Stand-alone, I haven't looked into it yet.
That's why I was asking for any recommendations.

Check into Greddy Ultimate
I want to use a Dyno dynamics dyno next time around. And I wasn't even thinking of the altitude, but I don't really know how much it effects the outcome

To put it into perspective...a stock 1st gen. leggy with similar miles on the same dyno was 65HP @ the wheels IIRC. Remember, it was 130HP @ the crank on the specs when it was new.
Thanks Reason, I'll look into the Greddy Ultimate when I get back to the
office on Monday.

Greddy emanage ultimate is a piggyback. For standalones, youre looking at Hydra nemesis, autronic, motec, AEM, etc.

my car is a 2000 outback limited with 115k miles. i had it dynoed in september and made around 125HP/TRQ. this was with only pulley, intake, and catback. since then i have added a grounding kit and a random tech cat is in the mail. then will be borla headers. that will remain the setup until i get cash for turbo or cams.
I'll have to figure out how to post the picture of the dyno plot later when I find my printout, but going from memory the results are thus
Max HP= 124.7
Max TQ= 127.4
Alt = 28ft
Temp = 103F
14X,XXX Miles
Mods:
Custom Intake
Custom CBE
Agency Power Crank Pulley
SAFC-2
There is a shop opening near me on the 26th of this month and I will be going to the FREE dyno day that they are offering on their brand new AWD dynojet with eddie current to get another run in to see any changes since I've added the new parts and another 50K miles
New additions already installed:
STI Group-n Motor Mounts and Stop-Pitch Mount
Rallitek 4EAT Mount and Bushing
Custom Wet Nitrous Kit (85 shot)
MSD RPM window switch
MSD Tach Driver
NGK Spark Plugs
NGK Spark Plug Wires
TB Bypass Mod
STI Front and Rear Axles
Gutted Cats
PLX Wideband 02 Sensor and AFR Guage
I hope I haven't lost power, I know my tranny and torque converter are starting to wear out, but with all of the additions I hope to make 130whp
My car currently has 178,XXX miles
Coming soon:
engine and tranny swap when nitrous finally kills the damned stocker
what kind of car is it?

oooh, sorry i forgot none of my old screenname info would show in my nonexistant signiture
its a 99 Legacy 2.5GT Limited with the 4EAT
oh i should add that my custom intake is simply a piece of bent pipe to replace the large torque box (so i could run nitrous) and its de-snorked and has a K&N filter, cost me 60 bucks total....
shitty, but it works and did show 2-4hp top end gains on the dyno when we switched from torque box to pipe, ran 3 seperate runs because we were all curious if it would help or hurt the car, but there was no noticable drop in power at low end
Guys, please remember to list what dyno you got your numbers from and the conditions for that day (temp, rain/clear, etc); not all dynos, even ones of the same model will produce the same numbers even on consecutive days.
For example, I'm going to put the Legacy back on the Mustang dyno to see the difference between what the 280whp on a Dynojet spat out when it was being tuned...

well 10hp from header, high flow cat and a simple tune isnt much. I like to see what you put down now with the TBS and CAI.

how do u post pics here?
You need to have the pics hosted on some other site and then paste the link here. Good free sites are Photobucket or Imageshack.

these are my dynos.
the 1st was done, as a baseline, with a weapon-r intake and perrin lightweight pulley.
the 2nd was done with the addition of the stromung catback.
the 3rd was done with the addition of the borla header, random tech cat, and buddy club grounding kit.
i am just posting to give people an idea of what they can expect from these parts. WHP gains are gains and even if this dyno "reads high" as people say. there still was a 25WHP/19WTRQ gain from the baseline.
these sheets are also in xcceleration.com's gallery with a detailed breakdown. check it our if u want to.
i also have the cusco front strut bar, whiteline rear swaybar, and apexcone HID conversion kit on the car.
on that last one WTF happens at 4100RPM?

i have no idea. it did happen in the other graphs, not as drastic as this one, so i think it is how the engine is, but don't know why it looks like a chunk is missing. that dip is even present in the other graphs before mine.
otherwisr it is a nice graph.
