    Short Throw Shifter

    Anyone know why 3rd party short throw shifters look like this:

    and the OEM SPT short throw shifter looks like this:
    http://www.subarupartsforyou.com/cp_par ... artid=1836

    It looks to me like the OEM comes with a lot more hardware.

    Yeah, but the OEM comes with more price tag.

    honestly, I'm not sure why. One thing that comes to mind is the fact that maybe Subaru re-bent the shifting rod, where as the Kartboy shifter just raises the pivot point of the shift rod.

    I've got a Kartboy short shifter and haven't really noticed any ill effects. I also have the front shifter bushings. Its a nice combo.

    I do have the rear cushion for the shifter, but thats set aside for my 6MT conversion...and I have the front bushings for that too. In due time.
