    BD Owners, where's your amp?

Since I'm more than likely putting my Typhoon on the For Sale block later this year, I figure I'll make use of some of the stereo goodies in it. It beats having to buy new stuff anyway.

So my question is, where have you guys mounted your amps and do you have pics?

I will be using a Premier deck I bought years ago, with a Punch 250.2 and some Boston Acoustic 8"s in a bandpass box in the trunk. The box doesn't take up quite as much of the trunk as I thought it would, but I'm not sure where I want the amp...

Though, to maximize space, I thought about screwing it to the top of the box.

I'd love to see pics of your various amp mounts

I think most people choose to mount them on the back of the rear fold down seat! I dont have one.. but if i did.. thats where id put it!

This is my set-up in my BD, the same way i had it in my 94 accord cpe.... it's nice b/c i can easily take an allen wrench and disconnect all the wires. whenver i do need the trunk space... downside is that a thief can easily take of with it... (that's why i have the trunk lock cancel switched to on)

Nice setup. I may go that route. I wasn't sure about mounting it to the back of the seats, but I'll look into that too.

    Thanks!

Might want to see what you can do about re-aiming those vents away from the amp. Heating during the winter will not be too good on your amp. But other than that, that looks pretty sweet, I have one mounted on the back of the fold down seat and one on the back of my sub box, but they're a huge PITA and there's no real easy way to disconnect the whole thing if I need more space. This Summer I'm considering pursuing custom fiberglass boxes for my subs and cleaning up my whole audio setup.

that is where mine is in my BG, But i would recommend pointing the wires to the Duct or even better to the sides how it is now, some unsuspecting victim might catch a ride with you and accidentally kick it.

I had mine hanging down from the passenger seat-rail - I made a custom bracket. It limited the amount of seat travel, but it was still usable.

Even so some passengers managed to kick into the cable enough to damage the circuit board, so I had to open it up and re-solder the contacts, partly even rewire things...

All in all - if you have passengers in the back, that position is not that great, unless you fabricate some sort of protective shield.
