Pulled my timing covers back off, discovered my cam sensor code is from slack in my timing belt. Looks like the tension unit went out. Damn thing has less the 500 miles on it. Ordered up a new belt kit because I do not wish to do this again. lol.
Also cut the welds off on the axle back section of my Ebay WRX Cobb replica exhaust so I can rotate the pipe to get it where I want it. All in all, my $100.00 3" cat back should be pretty damn good when done.

Rotated the tires on the 3.0R today. Found the road noise I am getting is most likely from an unevenly worn tire. It was on the corner that had the bent tie rod when I bought the car.

drove to a Christmas tree farm, played in the mud, then strapped the tree to the roof, and rinsed the car off by driving through a 18" deep stream that was blocking our path home..

I will miss the BH. Between the oil consumption and the rust, I didn't think it was worth it. My wife wanted me to get something newer and more reliable anyway. I think I did ok. Too bad the momo wheel doesn't fit on the BP.Originally Posted by Muse

Jeep: Blend door is replaced finally after 7 long hours start to finish. Now I have heat. Just in time for the cold winter ahead. the only thing left is recharge the Freon since I had to pull the heater core out.

Mid pipe snapped in half a couple weeks ago, so I had subikid90 make a fancy exhaust for my BD. 2.5" stainless, mandrel bent, tig welded, 18" resonator, Vibrant 1146 muffler. I don't think I could possibly be any more pleased with his work. Quality materials, perfect fitment and tucked up nice and tight under the car. Sounds perfect. Deep, no rasp, no drone, and just the right volume for my tastes.
I can't wait to hear it after he makes me a header, HFC pipe, and intake for the EG33 swap. Might have to get one of his stainless single port UEL headers to hold me over until the swap though.

Oil change on the 3.0R Outback. Love the access to the oil filter. That oil plug is kinda a pain to reach with the engine skid guard on.
^ It is but at least the plastic under tray has a cutout for the filter, I have no luck on the STi...
Sold the steel wheels I've been for my winter tires and am going to use the money to get the tires remounted on the alloys.

Still not as good as the filter on the top of the engine like newer FB/FA motors though
Maybe a Fumoto valve for you? I've been thinking about getting one for the 'Beca.

Personally I think the placement of the oil filter on the EZ30 sucks. Its pretty close to the header on the right side.

I like that I can avoid getting an oil covered hand with the EZ30 (I keep forgetting about the styrofoam cup trick). I think its better then the placement on my mothers EJ253. My hand smacks the exhaust heat shield with every rotation. I think my old EJ22E had a good placement.
^ copy the 22e. it's pretty good.
i ike the cup idea! When i remeber i use the filter box.
I did a remote setup on mine, run it up by the fender now I dont even have to get on the floor, just open the hood to get the filter off, still have to lay down to get the plug out tho, got more oil capacity and it runs cooler. If you really had the need you can use it to run an oil cooler too.
if I wanted to lower my car I'd have gotten a GT!

Replaced my left front wheel bearing and axle. Found out my left front spring was broken. But on some new pcv hoses and power steering suction hoses, since I believe they are supposed to be made of rubber not plastic. Lol.

got it on e-bay, i think it was a moroso item. you can get an adapter with a single in out line setup or a dual setup to run a cooler, and on the filter end you can get a dual filter setup for those hard drivers.Originally Posted by Muse

This is a cool idea. It never occured to me you could relocate the filter. I like it... Ooha nd with a trans cooler port! Nice, then I could have a TMTC under the scoop in y engine bay! :smt026Originally Posted by prodriver1
I actually really like the idea, with the potential for long hauling the raft in boating season.
I think i'll add this to the mod want list, in fact i should reconfigure my build thread's firt post. . . . . . .
I cleaned my IACV today in an effort to fix an occasional erratic idle on cold starts! I soaked it with gasoline and it flushed so much crap and grime out of it. No wonder idle would sometimes be pushing 2200+ rpms on cold starts...the valve that's attached to the shaft thing had so much carbon buildup that it would get stuck.
Reinstalled it and took it it for a test drive. Not only was the idle smooth as silk, but a slight hesitation on acceleration issue is gone as well. Hooray for cheap and easy fixes!
