Changed out the "C" headlight accent LEDs (they were starting to fail) with Philips LEDs and they're a bit brighter and likely much better built.

More winterizing to come - mainly switching out tires and spraying the underside with fluid film for rust resistance.

Engine code P0115 popped up on me today. Going to buy a new sensor this week.

Question on that: my temp gauge still works so is there an issue with driving the car still?

Do you have a history of overheating? If not, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I know there are two sensors - I believe one controls the gauge, the other might send info the ECU. Might not be the one that's sending info to the gauge, especially since it's a trouble code, which would be activated by the ECU.

I got this car for free because they were going to send it to scrap. I Don't know the history of the vehicle and I have only had it a few months. Mostly, I don't like the light on my dash. I'll look into the two sensors and see if I can test them and replace them.

I did nothing that fun or exciting. I changed the wiper blades on the wagon.

Changed my sun visors. I now have mirrors and light bulbs for driver and passenger. I say light bulbs because I still have to wire power to them.

    Thank you, kind sir.

Got the speakers replaced (now the door panel vibrates, darn it!), installed the Kartboy front endlinks from the BK, new SenSen rear struts, replaced the broke drivers side mirror. Had the bronze summer rims slipped into the nice quiet Michelins, replaced all the gear lubes with various Redline cocktails. Rattle-canned the stock wheels white, had General Altimax Arctic's mounted. Even swapped the Grimmspeed brake master cyl. brace from the BK into the BH. Yes, it bolts in! Also put in front camber bolts, seems BH Outbacks spec. positive camber! That is not cool. Yes, it understeers less now.

No, I didn't do all this today, it's been a project over the last few weeks, trying to sort out the details before winter.

Had to put couple of pounds of Air in the tire since the light was on the Legacy. Drove it into work today. It's been sitting for about a month due to way past over due maintenance. Next Friday I will be doing oil, front and rear diff fluid change on the Legacy. I be all caught up on maintenance. When I get some time the Legacy need a serious bath.

I been really busy working 7 days 70-80hrs a week and squeezing in my doctor appointments during my working hours I don't have enough time anytime soon and my other vehicles need attention (big jobs).

    UPDATE:
Finally did the oil change, front and rear diff, coolant, and replace driver HID ballast on the Legacy on 11/18. Now I need to take it in for a wiper motor recall and I notice a extended hard cold start. I will have the dealer look at the camshaft sensor and maybe do a re-flash to see if it will solved the issue while it's doing the recall.

This week I'm ordering (2) rear tires for my MB. Then after that I can finally order the Continental DWS for the Legacy and hope I get it install before the first snow.

Well, seeing how I have a roof rack on my '01 Leggy Wagon, and I am a rather festive person, I wanted to put up some Christmas lights on my car. However, I am really into technology, and modding, and modding technology into things, so I can't just run some LED strings off of an inverter. No, the flickering would be too distracting for passing drivers! I need to rectify the AC back into DC, then cut off the second half of each light string and reverse the polarity to make them all turn on at the same time. So, a trip to the local RadioShack and about five hours of soldering later, I've about 50 feet of lights on the roof, with a switch next to my seat, full bridge rectifier under my seat, and a power cable going up by the B pillar. Yeah, I'm pretty proud of myself, pulling into school each morning, seeing all those red noses and window-antlers, while I have THESE.
Next things to do in preparation for winter: (1) wire up a relay to close the FWD fuse circuit so that when I lift my handbrake, the back will disconnect from the center diff, and (2) replace fog light pods with small LED bars.

Thanks! I do have to say that I went a bit overkill, you know, DC outlet to AC inverter to DC rectifier, but using a DC-DC step up is just too mainstream.

I did something like this to filter noise with an MP3 player to FM modulator setup where the modulator was physically inline with the antenna cable - it ended up getting engine noise, which I used the inverter to filter out.

@Wiscon_Mark Huh. I've had this idea kicking around in my head for a while now about a universal, plug-n-play sequential shift light device. I thought about pulling engine RPM and power out of the OBD port, but seeing as I can only read data out of there at about 500ms intervals, using it for a shift light would defeat the purpose. Using an arduino to map the alternator whine into which lights to power is a lot more reliable now that I think about it. Just use two trimmer potentiometers to tell it when the first and last block should light up, and bam, you've got yourself another way to kill 50 bucks.

Its been a while since I have posted on here and has been a while more since I actually drove my car. I replaced the radiator, much easier than my '96 Sentra which I did a few months back AND didn't have to make any blood sacrifice!

Annoyingly I found the previous owner had broken a screw for the plastic cover under the right side of the car, used a self tapping screw and mounted it about 1/2" forward of the hole with the broken bit of screw in it.

Since I work six days a week/go to school part time (read-no time for a ride thread) (YES! SEMESTER BREAK!) I'll do a short write up on my new ride-a '03 outback wagon w/VDC I pick up for 5Gs back in august. I'm the second owner (third-if you count the time on a used car lot) very clean for a car that has be in the northeast its entire life. It made its debut at the R.I. meet-two weeks after the belt blew up on my way to work the day after I bought it (part of the "inconvence" H6 package)

Brushed off the snow, started it up, and drove around for some errands. Car is running good, still has that burnt oil smell, though.

Haven't been very active lately due to a small fire in my house and a family member being in the hospital.

The fire I mentioned earlier was my 3d printer. Only thing that saved my house was that I had the door closed. Anyways, here is my grille as it stands now. I want to get a different piece of mesh (one piece, actually, instead of the three I have) and probably paint it black.

Just paid off the remaining 36 month that I owed on the Legacy. I'm Sitting back and waiting for the title to arrive. This weekend I'm taking it in for the wiper motor recall and I been noticing a slow hard start only in cold weather. I get the dealer to look at it as well.

Just had the wiper motor replaced under the recall over the weekend. I asked them about the CVT trans fluid they only change it if it's dirty. They only do a fill up to the fill hole. There is a procedure on doing this with hooking up the computer and getting the CVT transmission to a certain temperature. They could not look at the hard start issue on the weekend I have to reschedule it for the weekday

Subaru said I need to do front (5mm)/rear (3mm) brake pads and tires soon. I be ordering Akebono this week since I run there pads on my Mercedes and on my Acura.

Ask not what you can do for your car, but, what your can can do for you-P0420 poped up on my way to work yesterday-good thing I did my last emission test at the beginning of the month-15 years is it in this state

Changed my oil yesterday. Got the car up on a lift and walked around underneath it. Looks in good shape. Except for the black slime covering around the ATF pan and the transmission. I want to get it all cleaned up, but I am worried that the sludge is holding everything in.

My ownership badges came in the mail. Need to wash before I stick 'em.
