Good things that have happened to you?

it's that time of year when people get all caught up in buying "stuff" to make other people "happy" or to fulfill some unfulfillable desire in themselves.

Post up examples of good things that have happened to you, or random acts of kindness that you've witnessed.

I'd just like to say thanks to the community of SL-i.
Over the past couple of months I've had numerous dealings with a number of active and not-so active members and they have all been great. One member saw a post I made and decided to send me something just as a gift.
It wasn't a huge gesture but it really did make my day that someone would take the time to do something nice for someone else.
The fact that it was me receiving was just icing on the cake.

I was extremely happy to be able to help another member out on Saturday with some free parts that I had decided to save from my old BD just in case someone ever needed them.

I saw a guy and his wife help another couple at the supermarket on Sunday when they were struggling to get their shopping cart across the snowy parking lot. They pushed the cart for them and loaded the groceries into the car, then returned the cart to the correct place (unlike the majority of shoppers who left their carts standing in the snow).

thank you rodger, i mean it

i help people every day you know, i mean to you or maybe some one else (who doesnt really own pets) it may seem like what ever, but to any one, who really really loves there dog, or whose grandma lives alone with only her cat, and you thank that cat for being her best friend you would know what i mean, some people, all they have are there pets, i love my dog like no one else, he'd never leave me, or be happy with another person, how many friends do you have like that? so when i show a person with a pure bred dog the proper food to help him live longer or to help the suffering it has, i know im doing a good thing...i wish i had more to say, who knows i might be able to come up with some thing soon though (i do owe you)

Working in my field(s), it's sometimes easy to forget that there are still good people out there. It seems like we deal with the worst of the worst of people and their actions. Good thread.

oh this reminds me, it was on a wednesday i believe, and around lunch time. where i work, its right near a big intersection follow by the interstate. and i had just cash my check and on my way heading back to work. then something caught my eye, it was some random homeless man kneeling down on the medium barrier...right in the middle of the big ass intersection lol. He was holding up a sign, i forgot what it had said...but nonetheless, i stop my vehicle right in the middle of the stoplight, in broad daylight on lunch hours, traffic was back up... and handed the man a 20 dollar bill. He was damn excited to see someone actually notice him, let alone the 20 dollar bill i gave him. I shook his hand, he thank me...and i rode off to the sunset..never did see him again.

With that said, a car two spaces ahead of me broke down this morning on the way to work. The car in front of me pulled over (out of state New York plate too) and stopped, I pulled up alongside to see if they needed help and the 2nd guy waved me on - 1st car had a flat tire and said he could handle it.

thats really cool that some one from ny stoped, ive been to new york a TON of times and usualy no one there cares about ANY THING if its not involving them, thats awesome!! nice eye!!!

i helped a lady today, she was really sad because her dog keeps running out the front door, she said that yesterday she had to chase the thing for 6 hours and she wanted to use a shock collar to correct the problem (which would not work, trust me) i explained to her that she needs to find a reason for the dog to want to come to her, a toy, food, a whistle make it a game, ya know? she left happy and with out wasting 200 bux on a collar that would have caused them both pain (the dog being shocked and her having to see her best friend get hurt)

    dose that count?

and hey justin ^^^^^ im gonna keep an eye out for a hood for you, no worries,

Re: Good things that have happened to you?

blah blah blah. in the past few days i've had to argue with a guy over the fact that he was more concerned about getting around my ambulance and getting to work on time than anyone's safety on my scene. i had the road blocked on a rollover with a 23 yr old mother ejected and killed.

today, i ran a 14 year old female having a major asthma attack. her mother didn't seem to care. i also ran a 3 year old that had gotten into his mother's supply of xanaflex, which was illegally in her possession to begin with. she was more worried about going to jail for possession than the fact that her child was dying.

i'm pretty sure that for every single person who tries to help someone else, there are at least 100 that really don't care about anyone around them. this world sucks.

I agree with the first part, amazing things happen all day, great things that every one really over looks.... I'm sorry I love life dude, things can be bad, or things can be great!! Its how you choose to see it.. And as for Perdue, na, he just had a rough day at work, but hey! Tomorrow is another chance... Things always get better
