    help me make my mind up about my constant project

    soo i have to make my mind up soon about what i want to do with my car.... my car is slowly gettin back to stock.... its very sad.... these are my options right now... sell my car as is... put the turbo setup back on and sell.. if i sold my car i would buy a black 00-04 leg and boost that via some kind of setup either swap or boost the 2.5....... or im thinking keep my car and go ahead as planned with dropping in the 22g motor ive been building... or since im having money left over from the morgage i could buy a wrecked usdm 04 or 05 sti and do a complete motor tranny suspension etc swap.... then could add bolts ons and such as i go and be pretty reliable... the 22g setup is gunna be fast as shit but it wont be a daily driver with that (therefore id have to buy a car to drive everday and i cant leave anything stock so that would be another project) .... with v8 sti swap it could remain a daily driver.... im gunna have lik 15 to 20k to drop into my car soo any opinions will be helpful..... thanks guys.

    Theres a guy Ive seen around campus who has a black 97 with a full USDM STi swap like you were saying, and that thing is ill. Reliable, fast, etc. I would say if you have the money def do that.

    Keep the BD and do it up! And when it comes time to buy a 2nd car get your BE. If I had it my way, I would own the sedan from each gen.

    Ooo, I was in this predicament.....well, it was like it...

    I've been here before. Keep the project car, and let it drag on, or drop it, cut bait and go for the flashy new one.

    NAHHHHH! Keeping it ol' school! Its a tougher road, but you know what, its the classics that have character.

    And yes, character can be interpreted differently, but its my car...therefore its my definition.

    In my honest opinion, as I posted on the ol' site, a franken'd motor doesn't hold up (unless blue'd and balanced) against an off the shelf (or out of the wreck) STi motor.

    And why wouldn't the EJ22t be a daily driver and the EJ25t wouldn't? I'd be jumping up and down for the smaller displacement due to ridonculous gas prices these days.

    Thats why I'm going 2.0 and not 2.5. KingPin (Arizona) has the evidence to prove it....he had (has) a monster LHD converted to RHD US WRX with an awesome JDM motor, then he swapped out the bottom end to a US STi EJ25t and all he did was fill that thing up. A LOT!

    It all depends on your life circumstances as well. Not everyone can take this on due to life responsibilities.

    For me, there is nothing like the shock, surprise and dismay (to the other party) of a sleeper. BOOM, and you're gone like it was none of their business to have even seen you on the road.

    The JDM swap is cheaper than the US STi swap. JDM still uses the cable throttle.....US is drive by wire....meaning you need all wiring and the OEM US STi pedal box for the wired pedals...

    Stuff to think about. Above all.....have fun and let that Boxer ROAR!!

    im still undecided.... my 22g motor is built for higher reving and alot of boost... but its a race motor now... not a daily driven motor..... the sti swap would be a daily driver motor cause it would be somewhat stock for awhile.... yea the drive by wire was my only concern... im not a big fan of that... either way ill keep ou all posted and thanks for the help so far....
