    What the f*ck is this broken thing? what the f*ck?!

    on my way to go get a new tranny today.. i opened the engine and found the problem... this thing! what is it and how do i fix it?!

    Yeah I concur... CV boot is all ripped.
    99 30th anniversary BD legacy 2.5GT (current) used JDM ej25 replaced at 135,814 mi.
    00 Impreza 2.5rs (RIP) sold as-is...
    89 Bronco II (Still running "knock on wood" for Off road) for where even my subie can't go

    just replace the axle's much cheaper than getting the CV replaced...

    how much is that going to cost?

    why does it still click a million times going into park (then keep rolling)
    the dealership said something about my drive train.. yada yada $450-700 fix


    are you sure its the cv?

    Absolutely positive it is the axle. Replace it. It shouldn't take a competant mechanic more than 20-30 minutes to replace. It is expensive at the dealership becuase they use new OEM axles at about $300 each. A rebuilt axle from NAPA is about $70.

    That should be clicking when you make turns. Not sure about what would be clicking going into park. That sounds like an engagement problem on the auto-tranny.

    oh and one more thing.. i dont knoow if you guys saw the other thread with the vid links but the black thing is spinning and the rod is rattling around in there (i think)
